Technical issues.
The game is often freezing (it happens almost exclusively during dialogues), and sometimes crashes GPU driver altogether. Lowering settings helped a bit, but I truly don't want to compromise quality this much.

Setup (nothing is overclocked, all packages are updated):
OS: Arch Linux (kernel 6.11.5-arch1-1)
Drive: M.2
GPU: RX 7900XT
CPU: Ryzen 5 7600
RAM: 32GB DDR5

EDIT:

With these settings I haven't encountered any stutters or crashes (basically lowering everything from ultra to high):
Nevermind, it started freezing and crashing again. I'll update settings listed below again if something fixes it.

Currently trying this:

Disabling hair strand greatly reduced freezing, but not completely.

It reduced crashing to the point that it is very rare, marking this as answer.

I am having the same issues, just commenting here in case anyone finds a solution. On an all amd system with good specs. Constant crashing.

Unsupported platform not working perfectly at launch, shocking?

what's unsupported? This title is listed as Steam Deck Verified by Steam itself which is a linux system. So please go away and don't bother us with nonsense.

You are clearly ignorant on the matter, just shush on topics you know nothing about.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

I'm on windows with a 13900k and 4090. The frame pacing is bad, it can be semi fix by forcing it to high priority but the mini stutters are still there mostly during dialogues in cutscene. It baffled me how can DF said this game is smooth. I'm guessing they received the EA app version and this issue is isolated only for steam user. Its just like FFXV, where EA app version is superior with no stutters because steamworks is not used in the EA version.

Yeah, getting major hanging in cutscenes. I don’t remember it happening before I disabled the cinematic bars so I’ll reenable that next. Then I’ll try the strand hair if it continues.

I found it eventually raised direct x errors such as the below. Sometimes it will say device hung I think instead of this and sometimes it won’t happen at all. I’d updated my drivers after that and was disappointed to find it still occurring. Also disabled vsync since Id seen other reports of this issue with other EA games also using frostbite, that didn’t help.

Error:

I had this crash at least once an hour, updating the Nvidia drivers didn't change anything, it came back. However, since I unchecked this hair option I haven't had any more crashes, it's been 2h30 without a problem for the moment

2 hours more and still no crash. I haven't changed anything except this hair option. So it's been 4h30 without a crash. I'm playing in ultra with everything maxed out. 4070 super

Might be an NVIDIA issue? On amd gpu Intel cpu and not had any issues with hitching or hangs, cut scene or otherwise. Win 11.

Sadly, don't work for me with unchecked hair option. Always crashing...
Sometime it's crashing after around one hour of playing, sometime 20-30min after launching the games, sometime just at the launch.
It's complety random those crash...

Got an I7 13700K, 32gb Ram and a 7900XTX.
