Getting a lot of Stuttering. Anyone Else? Solutions?
I'm seeing a lot of stuttering in my game. Particularly in transitions in/out of cut scenes, but also just running around and periodically during combat.

I have a i9-13900 and 4070 TI. Shouldn't have any issues. I tried capping the FPS at 60 using NVidia Control Panel just to see if it helped and so far nothing. Anyone else seeing this?

Processor 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-12700F 2.10 GHz
Installed RAM 16.0 GB
Graphics Card RTX 3070Ti

Here is what has worked for me so far:
In Game Settings > Borderless Windowed, Vsync ON, Triple Buffering OFF, I also followed this guide https://gamerant.com/dragon-age-the-veilguard-optimized-pc-graphics-settings/ to optimize my settings, only changing a few things like turning off Ray Tracing (have yet to test this with it on) I also have NVidia Reflex ON and Dynamic Resolution OFF.

Then in NVidia Control Panel > Manage 3D Settings > Program Settings > Select DATV > Max Frame Rate set to 60 > Power Management Mode > Prefer Maximum Performance > Vertical Sync On

Afterwards in NVidia Control Panel > Manage 3D Settings > Global Settings > Shader Cache Size 100GB (or Unlimited, up to you)

It's worth mentioning that I also have this mod installed https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonagetheveilguard/mods/1 which makes it so the game is always set to high priority in task manager, but you could manually do this yourself every time you launch the game if you prefer. It's also worth mentioning that this hasn't completely removed the issue (at least for me, hopefully you have better luck) but it has made it so I can enjoyably play the game with minimal stuttering only really seen in combat. Hope this helps someone.

It's better to not play for now and wait until the DLC.

They announced the game won't have any DLCs because the team is busy with the next Mass Effect game.

What worked for me, was underclocking and undervolting my cpu.

When i was testing i realized that everytime my game stutters, both CPU Clock and power usage dropped to like 30%-40% so don't know if my power supply wasn't able to keep up, or if using it with 100% of power was heating it up (i dont think its the case cause temperature never went above 80ºC.

When i underclocked and undervolted on bios, my stuttering stopped completly and i actually got an fps increase

Yup, this comment fixed my stuttering completely. I simply undervolted my CPU by a small value and my game is now buttery smooth. Thanks a ton!

Guess I'm screwed lol. My B450i motherboard got screwed, so I replaced it with an A520i. I don't think I can underclock or overclock on it.

turn off "triple buffering" and see if that helps. My PC bulldozes everything that is thrown at it and was a stutter fest until I turned that off.

Not sure if any of you have high refresh monitors but I switched my refresh rate in game from 144hz to 60hz and the cleared it up for me. I switched it back from 60hz to 144hz and the issue has not come back yet for me.

I also attempted just rebooting, a fresh driver reinstall, and updating the shader cache size to 100GB. Those didn't seem to work for me but I tried all of this within a few hours so 🤷‍♂️.

One thing that majorly worked for me was disabling my game optimization software. My Anti-virus has a game optimization app built in and once it was disabled, it ran as smooth as butter

I have experienced some stuttering. Closing the game and reopening it seems to resolve the issue for a little while. The game did crash for me, either on startup or when I tried to load a save. The Steam file integrity check didn’t help, so I uninstalled and reinstalled the game, and the issue was fixed. The game does need a good performance patch, but overall, it is very polished for a 1.0 release

Let me guess it was Norton 360 for gamers with Game optimizer on? Yeah turn it off as makes your games run awful

For AMD users, turn off all Raytracing, then use AMD Adrenalin's chill mode to limit FPS to 60. It got rid of all the stutters, then turn on AMD Anti-Lag. The weird frame tanking (as in my FPS would dip to single digits, then slowly work its way back to normal) disappeared too.

I'm running now on max settings with Ray Tracing off and I'm getting a good 56-60 fps, no noticeable hiccups since I'm using Freesync too.

Not getting any visual stuttering but the audio is horrendous no matter what I put the settings to. I just bought it and I'm tempted to get a refund because it skips and stutters so badly that if it weren't for the captions I would have no idea what anyone was saying.

I must be the one with the worst luck as I have tried everything here so far with no good results. I guess the only thing I can think of is to swap the RAM memory modules for new ones (in case they are defective).

EDIT: Sadly the only configuration that has worked for me to eliminate stuttering (at least 90% of the time) is to set a Max of 30 fps at the Nvidia Control Panel level and set the in-game Terrain Decoration Detail graphics setting to LOW. This is the only combination that has helped me the most so far. I look forward to the day I can at least play this game at 60 fps.

I'm running a 3080, i7 10700K, 32GB RAM. Ernesto and a few others on here have the right idea. I put the FPS to 30 in Nvidia Control Panel and it eliminated all stuttering and audio glitches. Thank you for all the suggestions.

Change the monitor refresh in game to 25 Hertz or below.
