Why women look so ugly in this game?
Like, literally, with exception of some really hot NPCs (again, NPCs, not companions), rest of the main characters are ugly as all Hell. What's the matter with that trend? Women CAN be independent and powerful without looking like stumps with eyes.
Écrit par ZXQuincy:
Sadly its a modern western trend to make all female characters look like men, or at very least make them look like the product of multiple generations of incest... Funny how its always the opposite with the male characters though. Hypocrite much?

As for the low iq replies of "why don't you just touch grass coomer"... Wanting a proper representation of female characters who actually look like women, or having attractive female characters represented in this game just as much as attractive male characters currently are does not mean you want to wack off to them ffs.. If that is the kind of reply your capable of for this genuine criticism, then you seriously need to grow up

Sorry, but your boos mean nothing to me, I have seen what makes you cheer...

Let’s just call it like it is: Bioware, and the rest of these once-great studios, have been hijacked by social justice fanatics who think it’s their duty to make every game a soapbox for their political nonsense. Gone are the days of badass heroes and good looking characters—now we’re saddled with frumpy, bland avatars that look like they came straight out of a 'woke' propaganda poster. It’s pathetic. When I load up a game, I’m not looking to play as someone who looks like they’d get winded walking up a flight of stairs; I want to be a hero, someone powerful, charismatic, and yeah, attractive. But no, we can’t have that anymore because it might offend the precious sensitivities of people who don’t even buy these games in the first place.

These “they/them” types and wannabe revolutionaries behind the scenes are hell-bent on sucking the joy out of everything. They force-feed us politically-correct character designs and cringeworthy dialogue like, “Mom, I'm nonbinary and use they/them pronouns! You just don't understand~” in a medieval fantasy setting. Really? Who in their right mind thought that was a good idea? It’s like they’re so desperate to inject their garbage politics into every corner of our entertainment that they’ve forgotten that no one asked for this, and no one wants this. They’re running these games into the ground, and all for what? So they can get a pat on the back from Twitter activists who won’t even bother buying the game?

And then there’s the absurdity of people wanting "representation" so badly that they need wheelchair-bound characters and other “inclusive” nonsense. Look, if they could magically walk in real life, they would—so why the hell do they insist on dragging their insecurities into the one place we go to escape reality? Fantasy is supposed to be exactly that—fantasy. It’s about heroes and aspirational worlds, not this super sanitized, ugly, real-life crap.

Bioware used to be a studio that defined gaming. Now they’re a joke, brought down by the same “diversity hires” who think that giving us unattractive, uninspired avatars is somehow progress. Newsflash: nobody wants to play as the kind of people who need their “safe space” to be everywhere. They’re draining the life out of our games and then scratching their heads when their titles flop. Maybe if they weren’t so obsessed with ticking every woke box, they’d realize that we don’t want to be preached to. We want to have fun, and we want characters that actually look like they belong in a damn fantasy world, not a Tumblr blog.

TL;DR
Don't buy this garbage. When Bioware goes under, these people will be fired, and hopefully never hired again. It's just a crying ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ shame that companies like Bioware have to go under before anyone learns their ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ lesson. If I wanted to be force fed garbage like this, I would go to university for social justice and gender studies.

Dude, don't even lie, cause it's getting old hearing you people constantly lie about what you really want. You want media to pander EXCLUSIVELY to straight-white-racist-sexist-♥♥♥♥/transphobic men. Seriously, why is it such a MASSIVE DEAL to have diverse characters? Oh, "they're FORCING IT!!!" No! you guys throw a tantrum even when it's not forced. Simply having it/they pronouns or black protagonists have you guys howling like monkeys. And, funny, how you claim you want "characters that belong in a fantasy universe" yet probably buy games with immersion-shattering human-with-blank races designed exclusively to pander to white people and human narcissism than actually inspire or provide depth to the world.

At this point, you guys aren't going to make games better. All that's gonna happen is what you genuinely want: people are going to pander EXCLUSIVELY to you. No black characters, no LGBT characters, no actual female characters. Just straight, white-as-a-ghost men and cardboard sex-objects. That's all that's going to exist in the future, and all those minorities you guys despise so much will get nothing. They will be treated as subhuman scum by media, and it will be entirely the fault of cry-wokers who throw a tantrum any time game includes characters that aren't them.

At the end of the day, don't you think black people, LGBT people and women who don't want to be treated like objects would like characters that appeal to them, too? Don't you think furries might ALSO want characters THEY can connect with in fantasy worlds, too (not that DEI/SBI seems to give a ♥♥♥♥ about us furries, either)? Or are you going to ride the train that "if they're not us, they're not worth appealing to?"

You know, this whole thread is an insult to women with bodies like that. Not all women are curvy and have fuller assets. I said it before and I'll say it again, I think most of the people upset about this are those who are mad that their ideal woman isn't here and because of that they can't use these character for their sexual gratification.

I haven't seen any woman who played this game complain about "not seeing themselves" or "not being feminine enough". All the women I've seen play this love it and have a great time customizing their rook.

Male gamers do this with every game and even animated movies, like the bunny from space jam. It's weird.

You did not read my post earlier then. I've played previous Dragon Age games. Yes most women don't have an hourglass figure and large breasts combined but some of us do.

So why are those with a tomboy shape and those with a olympic weightlifter figure represented in western games, but those like me are not?

I certainly don't feel sexualized or objectified by Korean games who actually are the few who represent my body shape.

Also I never see anyone complaining that men should be less muscular and less manly in games because they are objectified and sexualized by women.

I don't try to advocate on behalf of men, writing that they should be uglified and have beer bellies because it represents the modern man on a fast food diet who hates eating vegetables. It's up to men to represent themselves. So why do some wish to preach on my behalf?

Also its possible to look badass and sexy at the same time, without looking like an ogre that can wield a sledgehammer that weighs more than I do.

I'm aware, I have boobs too and so does every woman on my dad's side of the family. That doesn't mean I'm going to insult women who may have a smaller bust or bum. If you think it's okay for men to insult women for their body then I guess that says something about you.

I already said they should have added more body types in the game, my only negative was how they were talking about women with that body type. The same group who just tried to say Pamela Anderson was ugly. Maybe it's the feminist in me, but when I see men insulting how women look it gives me a full body ick.

I don't care what a man body type is, I always romanced Solas and he's the thinnest one in DAI. I also stated I didn't care if they objectified or fantasized about women (you didn't read most of what I said) my whole point were their gross comments.

It's okay to advocate for men, I would if I saw someone bashing men and how they look. I'm not preaching on your behalf solely, I'm telling men to stop insulting the way women look. If these fictional characters aren't good enough for their sexual gratification than to go find girlfriends or play another game. That behavior is gross.

Again, many of you missed my point. I agreed that they should have added more body types. I just reject the idea that women have to look a certain way to be beautiful. As a woman who primarily dates other women, I like the physical appearance of all kinds of women. Thin, muscular, tall, short, chubby.

My point was that having a thread this long where men are just calling women who might not have boobs or butts, who might be a little muscular, women who might have broader shoulders, ugly is gross. At this point, it's no longer just making a suggestion, it's just outright being cruel. My mom is short and thin, she doesn't have any voluptuous curves, but that doesn't make her less of a woman.

So yes, at this point if it's such a big deal that you can't have happy private time with a fictional character because her bust isn't big enough, then yeah, find a girlfriend and stop being weird online. Though considering you don't know what a woman is based on your own words, that might not happen.

I'm also short at 5'0 but I have an hourglass figure and large boobs. While some prefer taller women. I've never really had a problem attracting anyone. Most see my shortness as cute.

I have no problem with different body shapes being added to games. Some are more muscular than most men in real life. Others have a tomboy shape. But both of those are represented in western games, but I rarely am.

Oddly some younger men actually think that anyone with my body shape has undergone breast enlargement and a BBL. Because of plastic surgery is so common these days among celebrities, they assume no one has this shape naturally. They actually think because celebrities have surgery to look like me, that I must be un-natural as well. Though most celebrities overdo it with the backside especially.

That's amazing, my mom is so short. It's funny because my mom is like 4'9 and me and my sister are about 5'7. So it's funny having a mother that's shorter than us lol. We would harmlessly poke fun at her, but I think short people are just as cute as anyone else.

I think they should add more body types, I've said this. I'm not against it, I'm just against men insulting women for their body.

Also, most men probably think you're not natural because they've likely never had a natural woman. I feel like most, if not all women can tell who is natural and who is not just by looking. I don't think there is anything wrong with women or men getting plastic surgery. So long as it's what they want. My girlfriend gets lip fillers and I think she's stunning with and without.

Uh, she's not looking to good nowadays, ya know. And, that's sorta the point of this thread.
Pamela actually looks pretty nice for her age. I mean, she had crazy surgery done but it looks like she mad most if not all of it removed. I wouldn't consider myself young by any standard but I also can see a mature beautiful woman when I see one.

Agreed, Pamela has and will always be stunning. I was too young for her baywatch days, but I've seen clips. She's stunning.

This is so true, and has been a mind blowing experience for me. I'm a mulatto male. Both my mom and half-sis(different mothers) are pretty well endowed with wide hips and a pretty low waist:hip ratio. Growing up in a predominantly black neighborhood, I thought voluptuous women were the norm. All the women I've had relationships were on the thicker side and usually pear shaped, so I know the difference between plastic and natural.

There's been so many times I've found myself arguing with people that X person didn't get plastic surgery. They don't understand that plastic surgery can't reshape your pelvis, fake skeletal muscle, and contour body fat to give someone the same look as a natural woman that's endowed like that. An extreme, but most common example I see is Gracie Bon. People will argue up and down with me that she spent six figures on plastic surgery when it's obvious all she did was diet and exercise enough to lose a lot of excess body fat, but because of her body type, the last place she'll lose is her lower body.

Anytime a dude tells me or displays the perception that every other woman are getting BBLs and such, they just tell me they don't have much experience with women and/or they've only dated petite or average sized women.

Yeah same, I'm black and native american so it runs in the family. I just looked her up and she is absolutely gorgeous. To be honest though, I hate the topic of trying to pinpoint what woman had surgery or not. However, looking at her before and after weight loss photos, she does have the same shape she had before, just less weight.

Don't worry, now that America has nationally rejected woke, this will all change on a national scale as it trickles down to yes, even games. And this is because all these mandated woke checkboxes will just magically disappear. We won, its over. BTW, where are those 15 million voters that suddenly disappeared?

Yeah, I hope electing a psychopathic criminal who wants to strip rights from women, LGBT members, and people of color, destroy Social Security, pump more fossil fuels into the atmosphere, drain money from the poor for the rich, among various other acts was ALL worth it just to erase black people, LGBT people and "ugly" women from media.

That has to be the absolute dumbest thing I've ever heard. Natural pear shaped women are abundant enough, you've dated several? LOL.

If he lives in a predominantly black neighborhood, this isn't that hard to believe. A large majority of black women are naturally curvy.

Curvy and 'pear shaped' are two completely different things. Pear shaped is a serious rarity. Curvy is not. BTW, curvy is just a nice way of saying unhealthy weight.

I disagree. People said Marilyn Monroe was plus size, but she was just curvy. They said Beyonce was plus size, but she is also curvy. Curvy and plus size are two different things, At least to me. Not that there's anything wrong with plus size women.

Curvy does not mean unhealthly weight. Where are you even finding stuff like this?

Don't conflate the two; perhaps i wasn't clear. You know exactly what I mean. I am not referring to Marilyin Monroe types, and we both know this.
No, I don't know what you mean. Kat Dennings, Jennifer Lopez, Mariah Carry, Nelly Furtado, these are all curvy women. You're telling me they're unhealthy?

Plus size anyone is unhealthy. While you bring up a good argument with Marilyin Monroe, I highly doubt she weighed 118, but that's just me. However, you're cherry picking here. We both know we are not talking about Marilyn Monroe shaped women. We are talking about overweight women. Overweight is not healthy no matter how you spin it.

That's also where I disagree. There are a lot of women who are naturally curvy and not unhealthy and there are a lot of plus size women aren't unhealthy completely. While weight itself can be unhealthy, there are women like Lizzo, who despite her size works out regularly and eats healthy. Just like being thin doesn't make you fully healthy if you eat terrible things or participate in certain things I don't know if I'm allowed to name on here.

I looove Kat Dennings. <3

'who aren't unhealty completely'. If that is not an oxymoron, I don't know what is. How can you be incompletely healthy? Lizzo is not healthy, but keep telling you that.

She's lost a lot of weight because she eats right and works out. So I think that makes her more healthy than a thin person who eats trash all day.

Overweight people who claim to 'work out' and continue to be overweight for years are either not working out, or are unhealthy eating and 'working out' to maintain the weight instead of adding more, resulting in unhealthy.
Sumo literally have existed for hundreds of years.
seriously, everyone is ugly in the main game, and the body proportions are all weird (is it just me or is our character just short and stuby?). when i came across taash I legit paused my game and loaded up nexus mods to see if anyone has managed to mod these fuglies into beauties....its just that distracting.

usually at least the men are good looking, but every one of them are just as afflicted. For men we get to choose between the original Dracula: Bela Lugosi, generic african american, and a moley assassin. on the ladies side we have an elf that looks like a dwarf, a mary sue magic dwarf, a wannabe Qunari (seriously we've strayed so far from Origins) and then there's Neve, whos actually not half bad looking, but they took away a limb just so they can balance that out lol. at least my manlet has a cute face.
