Steam says it will take 3 days to download!

Is someone else in your household streaming or downloading something else simultaneously? I also have less than stellar internet, but 9 hours to go isn't days.

Changing my download region helped for me. Switched from Charlotte to Toronto, time went down to 20-ish minutes. We'll see if it holds up though. I have relatively fast internet or at least I'm supposed to lol

36 hours of continuous downloading and I am at 74%. My nephew is playing fortnight and every other game he can play online available to him. My parents and sister are also streaming TV shows. I was worried I might need to upgrade my computer just to play. I didn't consider the internet speed. It is comforting to see I'm not the only one with this problem.

Ya but consoles play in like 480i. Textures are way smaller.

What speed do you have? Both Down and Up speeds? use a speedtest site if you don't know. speedtest dot net is what I use.

I get about 100Mbps Down and 10 Up. Not the fastest available, but not the slowest either. It took me a couple hours to download everything. I didn't time it exactly, but that's a rough guesstimate as I started the download then went and watched a movie and when it was done, so was the download.
