Why am I not surprised my controller doesn't like this game. Tried xbox and ps5 controller and nothing so far.

Edit: It fixed itself after I restarted my computer. Not sure what the issue was.

same, my xbox elite 2 isn't working, but my friends does.... not sure what the difference could be

works fine for mine. Sometimes you have to change the controller settings in steam

I restarted my computer and now my PS5 controller is working. Nothing for the Xbox controller though. It's supposed to have native controller support so i tried disabling steam input but that only helped my PS5 controller work.

Works fine for me with a plugged in PS5 controller. Even giving me the correct button prompts with no issues what so ever.

That's what I tried and it didn't work. Got it to now but it shows Xbox controls. Playing with the settings to see if I can fix it

Try disabling steam imputs for controllers. Or change around with those things. That can sometimes interfere with the inputs shown.

Yeah has to be something to do with your steam controller settings im using PS5 controller just fine and just switched to my xbox to test it and it works fine also.

I got it to show the right buttons. For some reason when I turned it off in settings, the game was still defaulting to input on. Had to close game and right click it and change just the games controller settings. If I did it using steam input it would turn my controller off

Wish the game DID dislike my "controller". Because, I don't have one, but I do have a joystick and throttle, and the second I get own control in the game, as in, stepping out of the first cutscene/choice thing in the inn...the camera starts spinning around, looking into the sky. Nothing I can do change anything, until I pull the connections for the HOTAS out.

Having no way to go, "I don't want you to take the input from anything other than the mouse and keyboard" is, in my humble opinion, ♥♥♥♥.

Have anything else installed/connected? Joystick, etc? If so, disconnect them.

I unplugged everything except my mouse and keyboard, restarted pc, restarted the game multipe times, still doesnt work

I can confirm: [DualSense connected via bluetooth] -> [Disabling Steam Input in DA: The Veilguard properties] = [proper PlayStation button prompts appear] + profit
