My take on the WOKE nature of this game

I know.. Another thread about how Wokeness ruined the game.. However, instead of just saying "LOL. WOKE CRAP GAME".. I'd like to give reasons why this just doen't work:

This game is set in a fantasy world: Darkspawn are threating to kill everyone, and mass wars are being fought..

This game is set in a medeival/renaissance (fantasy) time period* A time of famine, poverty, hunger, high infant mortality rates and health care basically didn't exist.

The people in the universe will not care about pronouns, sexuality or your genatalia. They actually have important things to worry about. Adding any of this stuff is clear virtue signalling that doesn't make sense in the context of the game universe -- We know what the universe is like.. We've had 3 previous games.


You want to address pronouns and such in a game set in modern or futuristic times, go for it.. But a game in this setting.. nope.


* I know technically it's a different world that doesn't equate to our understanding of medeival/renaissance.. But it's clearly based on that

Ancient Greek Sparta ruled for a good many years, Thebe another city state was getting out of hand, so the Spartans sent there army to wipe the city city out and ensure the whole of the ancient Greek world knew who was going to rule them for the next 100 years, in Thebes there was mass panic this was an crisis, the Spartans are literally breed for war and they also has a horrendous numbers advantage, Athens had fallen easily to them years before.

Out numbered Thebe had only one hope a unit known as the Sacred Band. This unit was specifically picked as a Gay unit, a gay unit of 150 couples.

The Spartans sent in there elites the and the sacred band went off to meet them. That day ended Spartan rule forever, that is how badly the Sacred Band beat them, they could not recover.

Without the Christian church rule over the western world, and then the world the whole sexuality thing would have looked very different. I reject you conclusion that a medieval world without a Christian like religion would not be more open.
The church in this world is not worried about crushing women's rights and keeping the sexuality to strict guidelines, restricting magic takes all there time.
