Why do the characters look so ugly?
I wish they had at least one nice looking male and female character, why is it mandatory to make characters look so bad

I think they are talking about NPCs.

Oh, I guess that's personal preference then. I think all the characters are gorgeous. Bellara (I know I spelled it wrong) has a large head, but they all do. I think that was just a mistake on their end. After a while I forget about the size of their head.

The NPCs don't look ugly, well, not the ones I like, Harding, Neve, Lucanis, Bellara and Darvin.

It's matter of creativity. If you can't make nice characters, you need to take your time.

I've been trying, keep getting load error and can't continue my game, to make an elven woman character, and I keep having problems with those lines that go from the nose to the lips. They're too prominent on my character, but I haven't been able to figure out how to reduce them. I've tried going through the complexions, but that didn't seem to change them. Am I missing a setting that can reduce those? It looks like she has shaded lines on her face rather than a more subtle separation of the cheek from the nose and lips.

Because people in the industry are insecure and narcissists and want to be seen as highly desirable, they think if they put characters that look like themselves in media it'll shift peoples idea of beauty but it won't work

Just imagine you're in the world of Shrek and suddenly you are a stud xD
But yes, ugly ass characters and lazy design with everything mixed in, men and women hairstyles etc.

Making your character look good will be the hardest thing you will face in this game...

I find it strange that when you see those two crows & that sweet copple wardens, they are so much different then the companions. I can see two different kind of art designs. Characters that looks more realistic and other npc's, special the companions, looking more like an comic with hard lines and almost no facial details in them like an cartoon. I make a long time textures & characters for Fallout, and i see that there are two different way of characters. If you make your own character in CC, even those looks so much more realistic and doesn't match at all with the companions. I understand there were more teams that worked on it and i can see it in the character design. And yes i find them ugly, not my taste and nnot apealing to me at all

You have options if you are willing to work at it.

What are you hoping to make that the CC won't give you the tools to do so? Genuinely curious.

That's why I asked. You don't get to see any nude scenes, anyway, so it's a non issue in my opinion.
This is one of the recent frustrating trends in Western games. There's nothing wrong with LGBT representation itself, but the way they make NPCs so UGLY is just bizarre. I really can't tell if the character designers were using their feet or something—how come the characters in previous games looked great, but in this one, it feels like the designers completely lost their sense of aesthetics?

I think the game’s sort of cartoony character style doesn’t really do the characters any favors. I wouldn’t call them ugly personally, but the style can’t decide if they want DAI semi-realism or anime mouth and eye proportions.
