Using the Wrong Pronouns Clip in DAV
This is how one character makes amend in DAV for using the wrong pronouns.

https://x.com/Grummz/status/1851665635513950434

This game is clearly meant for people in that subculture and to normalize it for those who are not.

Edit:

Now imagine for a moment. During down time, your character uses the wrong pronouns. You didn't choose it, the game did it to you. Now you basically have 2 choices. Make amends in the same way or not.

If you make amends you gain rep. If you choose not to then it damages your reputation. Not only with that character but with a city and/or faction.

They would consider it a... teachable moment.

Almost like you're intentionally ignoring the context. Which is that the character bowing is a member of a group that specifically does that as an apology.

And people ask "can we just talk about game itself?"
Well let talk about it!

Yes Xierstress, punish me for misgendering you! I feel so guilty...

It's a ridiculous scene on multiple ways.

First, the writing itself is ridiculous, not even getting into "culture wars" stuff. It's just really bad dialogue. The acting is also atrocious, but I guess the actors can't do miracles when this is what they are given to work with.

And as far as representation, this isn't good representation. This is exactly the bad kind of queer stereotype (the Twitter Discourse™ kind) that we would want to avoid, not perpetuate.

Good representation build bridges. This does the exact opposite.

It's just an awful scene, no matter how you look at it.

It's called subliminal messaging & it's a part of brainwashing.

This video clip is from a longer video. About 15 minutes long which EA took down. It was a compilation. The dialogue in this game is the worst I've ever seen in a big-name title. That is not hyperbole.
If i don't see 1 more "Pulling a barve" moment, gonna pop a fart.
What's next? Apologize for being white guy?

lol. Need more context but if true that's pretty bad.

The game looks fun; it would be a shame if it basically ended up being just some angry LGBT propoganda and nothing else.

The worst part of this video isn't the rant from not-Isabella on apologies and the "Yes-Man" crew (god, I can't imagine Baldur's Gate 3 writing being like this), but the fact your character can't call out Isabella on the absolute BS, along with Taash. Even if every party member would hate you for that. Look at the dialogue "choices", it's hilarious. You can't even play a Judge Dredd sort, much less evil.

I bet you there's ZERO companions that talk back to Taash about this.

High chance something like that happens in the game. the state of videogames is absolutely pathetic

""Culture wars"" crap aside, I struggle to imagine dialogue worse than Mass Effect: Andromeda.

Seriously, Andromeda was made fun of due to its uncanny facial animations and a few select horrible lines ("my face is tired"), but that doesn't even scratch the surface of how god-awful the writing in that game was for a major title from a major developer.

Every quest had some absurdly senseless dilemma where the obvious options were simply not given to the player as a possible answer. Example: in an investigation, you find out that the suspect tried to murder the victim, but failed to accomplish it - you have the option of either fully pardoning them ("he did not commit murder"), or of lying to the judge and saying that he did murder the victim. You don't have the option of telling the truth and accuse them of "attempted murder". This same kind of logic happens way too often in that game. And I don't even want to get started on how they butchered the basic base premise of the game (being the first ones in a whole different galaxy).

If Veilguard writing is on that level or worse, it's hopeless then.

BG3, you can literally kill any member of your crew. DAV won't even let you slightly criticize them. It's really weird & why I hated the companions in Starfield.
