Dragon Age or Dragon's Dogma?
I don't know much besides the trailers and the steam reviews about either games.
They both seem similar to me. Both action rpgs in a fantasy setting?

If I'd have to pick one which title would you guys recommend over the other and why?

They're totally different games.

Dragons Dogma Dark ARisen?

IF you meant Dogma 2 then NO

This i'd wait to see actual humans play it and not paid shills before buying, Outta the two options i'd say neither go buy MH Wilds instead.

Dogma 2 Was trash, Story non-coherent, Combat gets stale cause enemies don't scale with you i can one skill kill dragons as a rogue.

This looks like a mobile game that thinks its a PC Game with Modern Ideology thrown in for good measure.

Neither are good imho.

None of us have actually played this one so it is hard to make a case either way

Dragon's Dogma each and every day over this

The latest entry in both franchises are considered not quite as good as the previous titles.

I suppose one of the easiest differentiators is the fact that at least your companions can be interacted with more and have a greater impact when it comes to combat in Dragon's Dogma 2.

Did enjoy Dragons Dogma on console, but i did not enjoy Dragons Dogma 2 that much it felt very repetitive and lacked content and horrible story (flashy combat though but simple). Haven't played DAV yet so hard to say, from the reviews it seems to be repetitive but with better story.

In my mind i compare DAV more to Kingdom of Amalur, so oldschool grindy action adventure game with some light rpg elements.

you cannot compare them very well they are both rpgs but their whole approach is entirely different.
You can compare them in that you should only play the first game of each series however.

DD/DDDAs story was just as (in)coherent. I played them back to back. And I could kill almost anything with one skill in the first game too. Your perception is skewed through nostalgia.

Both this and DD2 are pretty rough

The first game of both series are great though

Get Dragon's Dogma, it's an adventure that doesn't beat you over the head with current day California/American politics
Dragon's Dogma 2 was very meh but I'd take this any day over Veilguard.
