Mementos achievements not unlocking

On one save I realized I had about 40 mementos found, but never got the achievement for finding 20 of them. The achievement does specify 'return to caretaker', but not sure if that's an actual thing you do. I've never been able to actually hand these in to anyone, just upgrade the caretaker shop.

There is no 'hand in' to do, no. You pick up or buy the memento and it opens a codex entry and gives points for the caretaker's upgrade workshop at the lighthouse. The achievements for mementos did work for me but I have had other achievements not fire correctly (eg the Chapter 4 one didn't in my playthrough) so there may be some traditional Steam glitchiness to the achievements generally.

The codex entries is how I've been counting them, not sure why this particular achievement isn't popping. I was able to get chapter 4 just fine.

I've actually just got that achievement on a second run through. I wonder if the cause of that particular one is first time round I did the other city first and got chapter 5 before chapter 4. Mebbe.

Hope the mementos achievements start behaving for you sooner rather than later. You'll likely know this but if you're counting just entries in the codex then not all entries come from mementos so it's possible to overcount how many mementos have actually been found.

I have a theory I can't test as I don't have enough to currently level up the shop, but the maybe it triggers upon lvling up the Caretaker shop with having at least 20 mementos. Problem is, having 20 doesn't give you enough points to lvl up the shop. If that is the case, then, the the achievement description is just worded bad.

For chapter 4, I did Neve's Minrathous mission before breaking Lucanis out, and then it popped, not sure if the order of those 2 had anything to do with it,

For me, it unlocked when I upgraded the Caretaker. 2nd or 3rd upgrade, I think.

Ok, that supports the theory. I don't know how I got enough points to get the shop to lvl 4 before having 20 mementos, because I need to get it to lvl 5 to confirm lol. Hopefully I get to that today,

Really weird they worded the achievement the way they did. should have made the achievements for lvling up the shop to lvl5 and again at lvl 10 or something.

Update: Yeah, got it when lvling up the shop just now, even though it took 30-something mementos for that. I guess for the 80 mementos one i could just avoid lvling up the shop until I have 80 of them.

They come in 50 and 100, so that might be the "issue". Finding 20x 50, might not be enough for a level, while 20x 100 might be too much. So its probably more a certain caretaker level, hence why it said "at least 20" in the achivement.
