Romance or Nah?
I was having this discussion with a friend, so I decided to bring it here.

In just about every game, the community has been crying out because not every person they meet is not romanceable. However, in this game, people are now mad that everyone in the party is romanceable.

In Origins, I believe people wanted to Romance Shale. Don't quote me on that. I wanted to romance Ohgren.
In DA:2, people wanted to romance Cullan (in origins too btw).

*I think Sebastian was also one, but I'm not sure if you could or not. I do know we're not supposed to acknowledge his existence, so I'll move on.*

In DA:I people wanted to romance Harding.

They made Cullan and Harding a romance option, but Cullan got a better response than Harding, despite people really wanting to romance her. *Speaking of Cullan, anyone else still laughing at that video? IYKYK*

So my question is do you think there is a such thing as too many romance options or not enough?

I didn't even notice, and I replayed recently, and never noticed more than LGB in some other Bioware games and BG3, or T in BG3 and a NPC, plus NonBi in DAV.

Who in BG3 is trans?

I romanced Neve, but honestly, the romances in this game feel like more of a side note with little impact on gameplay. They don’t add much to the overall experience, so I’d recommend just picking someone you find interesting and not overthinking it.

Originally, I planned to romance Tash, but after meeting their character and realizing they came across as a whiny, spoiled teenager, I decided to go with Neve instead.

I romanced Neve too. I regret it, and will likely never do it again on future plays. If you bring her along to the Ossuary to rescue Lucanis they spark a chemistry with one another immediately. They were made for one another, and that's clear. Taash and Harding can also end up together, and it's really cute imo.

With my choice to romance Neve I felt like an outsider butting my way into a blossoming romance to steal her away because, as the player, she's "mine by rights". That's pretty yucky. On the other hand, maintaining the close bond Neve and I had as Shadow Dragons, while supporting her very naturally occurring romance with Lucanis would seem more appropriate to me.

I did Taash the first play through, worth it.
Did Neve the 2nd time, not worth it.
Doing Harding 3rd....so far as good as Taash

I agree, I romanced Lucanis first and it felt like I was a third wheel lol. Second time around, I decided to go for Davrin instead and help Neve and Lucanis get together. I like my Davrin romance more.

I did a second save with a Taash romance that I want to play out too and then my last playthrough I'll do Emmerich.

I also agree that not every character should be pansexual, I liked flirting with Dorian as a friend, knowing nothing would ever come of it.

Lol nothing wrong with that, at least you can be honest. I remember the first time I got mods for BG3, I was so overwhelmed by all the adult mods that were there. I couldn't believe it.

*shrug* People will complain regardless of the decisions made in this particular aspect. It seemed more reasonable than making all the companions super-horny, at least.

Folks might have expected something more graphic given the existence of the enable/disable nudity option, though.

lol The best mods! The game in its pure(?) form already has more 18+ than most modded games though. 🌶️🔥

That's true. I was so surprised by character creator too. I'm not mad at it at all, just shocked lol.

I absolutely agree. I personally am glad it's not overly sexual, I couldn't really handle Iron Bull's romance lol. I tried Cullan's too, but always went back to Solas. <3

I never finished a custom protagonist RPG as a female character... Except Inquisition. Solas' romance is so beautiful that I HAD to play it. Then I went back to Dorian. Not without riding the Bull though.

Straight or gay or bi, romantic or dirty, I love the romance variations of Inquisition.

I saw parts of the Dorian romance and it was steamy, I was blushing up a storm. It's so cuuute though. I really want to do his romance with a male character, but that game is too big for me to replay again.

:O Lol it's so wild when I hear people say that. Also the same way I'm flabbergasted when people dislike Ohgren. I get it though, he's not everyone's cup of tea.

The grip that Solas had on me. Even though I hated how big DA:I was, I replayed that game maybe ten times, I don't know. And I romanced Solas every single time, except the one time I tried Iron Bull and Cullan.

He is is just a wonderful character in my opinion. ;p

Since Vorgoth isn't romancable, I've been trying to figure out which guy has the best personality.
I'm thinking Emmrich.

Nope, not just you. In fairness I've never played his romance or watched a video of it, so I don't know exactly how it goes. I liked his character in Inquisition, but I felt like he had a mentor/student relationship with my female Lavellan mage. I know some people enjoy mentor/student romances, but they're not my thing. My Lavellan romanced Blackwall, and I don't regret it.

I can understand that from that pov. He does kind of take on a "Let me teach you what Elves are really about." role at first. However, as the relationship progresses, I think he sees the Inquisitor as their own person and not someone they need to teach. Like they become equals and he even talks about that a little bit and his respect for her. I won't explain too much in case you want to watch it one day

I considered romancing Blackwall, but something about him annoys me. Kind of like Gale from BG3. I love when I get to purposely off Gale.

Lol I would have for sure romanced Vorgoth too. I'm going to do Emmerich on my third playthrough. I hear it's really good and Davrin's has been so much better than Lucanis's so I'm excited.

At first, I was going to romance Darvin because he's the cutest, but he just kept whining and pouting every time I talked to him, and I can't do that, lol... maybe because I teach, I can't deal with whining when I get home. I'm glad he seems to get better though.

Lol that's a valid point. I remember one scene, he just went on a full on rant and my Rook was just standing there like o.o.

So I completely get that. I do think his romance is adorable though, with a touch of spicy. I really can't wait for my Emmerich one. I've been avoiding all spoilers.

Man, I was going the Emmrich rout, and there is literally a point where you have to tell him he should follow his dreams and be happy (which ends the romance line), or give what feels like a self-serving/ manipulative answer that he should be with you, which is the only way to follow through with romance.

Now I'm bummed. Could they make one ranancable character into Rook? Is it me?? Maybe I should have not turned away Taash; at least they seemed interested. Lol 😂😂😭
