Explorer's Suit and Stormcharger Orb synergy?

I actually paid attention to the Explorer's suit in a second playthrough after finding the Stormcharger orb. I would assume no, but I was curious if they would work together?

Explorer's Suit: 3rd unlock - Immune to Shocked
Stormcharger Orb: Using an electric ability applies Shocked to you
When you are hit while Shocked, remove the effect and deal 300 electricity damage to all nearby enemies

I assume being Immune to Shocked means you can't get the status at all so nothing would happen when you use an electric ability. *But* if you can receive Shocked and just not get damaged by it, that would make for a really nice combo for the orb since you'd basically get the damage burst for free (no damage from Shocked)
