Every Romance is Better than Lucanis's Romance

In my first playthrough, I romanced Lucanis because his voice reminded me of Zevran. I'm a sucker for accents v.v However, while it was cute, it felt a little lacking. It felt like he had more time invested in Neve than Rook. So I decided to romance someone else next time.

On my second playthrough, my canon romance is Darvrin (Ik I can't ever get his name right), but also did a romance with Taash on the side just out of curiosity. I also watched a Harding romance from start to finish on a streamer's Twitch.

Every single one of those romances are better than Lucanis's lol. I'm so glad to see his wasn't the same as the others because his so so boring and uneventful. Harding and Taash's romance is so adorable, Davrin's romance it a little spicy. I think in my third playthrough I'll do a full on Taash romance. I'm not sure about Neve, I feel like she's better off with someone else and Bellara's demeanor is not....enjoyable.

I just thought that was funny.

I started off as a Lucanis romancer and it felt so third wheel bc he seemed obsessed with Neve. Really annoyed me so I jumped ship to Emmrich and regret nothing. One of the best Bioware romances IMO. Love him so much

Oooh yeah. I keep hearing that literally everywhere. I think I'll romance him next too. Do you think being a mourn watcher will matter in that romance?

I think his relationship with Neve adds a lot to the game. I kind of wish neither of them were romance options b/c they got them together right but not either of you with them right.

Was planning on romancing him, but made him upset. So I stole Neve from him. Next time I'll probably romance Davrin. I agree with the opinions of others that Lucanis and Neve seem written for one another.

I'm glad it's not just me who sees that lol. I was like... they really out here having Rook be a third wheel.

I am really enjoying the Davrin one, I was so surprised by how spicy he was being. Not in an icky overly sexual way, just some of his words and mannerism. It reminds me a little of those romance dilf books. Not as bad, but pretty much the same situation with Assan.

I will warn you off a Bellara romance then. That moves even slower/has nothing going on more than Lucanis. I never once flirted with him and I got the chance to 'lock in' the romance with him before anything ever happened with her. I don't mind slow burn but yeesh.

The male romance options in this game are meh (based on initial surface meeting).
I'm waiting for a Vorgoth romance mod.

Update on the Darving romance, it's still adorable!

Based on all the replies, I think the best romances are Emmerich, Darvin, Taash, and Harding. Bellara, Neve, and Lucanis should have just been friends.

I like them all, but if we were going to go on the best romance of all the games, it's always Solas for me. None of the others even compare, Solas is just the best character and best romance option ever.

Don't know if you've already gone through an emmrook run already but the short answer is yes the dialogue is a bit different when playing MW!Rook- though MW faction origin has a lot more effect on the game dialogue versus most of the other factions(save for Grey Wardens) just in GENERAL

Honestly, I did the Emmrich romance my first time through the game and was saddened to go online after the fact and find out his was [widely considered] the better of the options in terms of actual romancing going on! In a game with hrs+hrs for a single play I really expected a lot more! Ah well.

Nah, the romance for Lucanis is just for him. Spite isn't really involved.
