Darkspawn Tree Issue?

In Heights of Athim at The Crossroads, and I’ve tried saving and reloading, fast travel, waiting for encounters to regenerate, and nothing seems to work. The tree regenerates health no matter what, and I can’t find fifty darkspawn in a single run. This is especially frustrating because what’s inside is key to my Rogue’s build.

In case anyone is wondering, I’m playing the PS5 version. Beat the game once already, now trying to platinum it.

Apparently pushing a darkspawn into the door and attacking simultaneously somehow opened it??? I’m thankful, but confused what happened.

To get to the chest "inside the tree" one doesn't have to do anything but kill 50 darkspawns on the map. All the spawnpoints get refreshed once you travel to another isle inside the crossroads map and back. You can basically run a circle everytime and after 3 runs you should be good - just walking towards the "chest hole" opens it if you meet the condition (50 killed darkspawn). There are also some (2 + 3) lesser darkspawn unearthing once you pass the destroyed houses close to the start / center of the map. (it's random though)

See, I did that several times only for the tree to regenerate. Then I accidentally pushed a darkspawn into the door, and the tree opens.
