BG3 > DAV
Right now BG3 has 58k players, DAV only has 19k. But DAV is much newer. Why is there this discrepency?

BG3 is a real RPG, and you can use different strategies in how you approach most of the encounters. DA: V is a bland action game with a few RPG elements. I don't see any replay value from DA: V.

A few things.

1. I know a lot of TTRPG players who have been going through BG3 with people from their home groups or people they can’t play with anymore b/c of distance.

2. BG3 was lightning in a bottle and a cultural phenomenon despite itself in a lot of ways. Like, it’s not a bad game. I’ve put a lot of time into it, but people were willing to look past its flaws. There’s a lot to like and the people who like it love it. Between being able to play the whole story from each party member’s POV gives considerable replay value if you’re interested in seeing it.

3. Dragon Age has been dead for a decade. The last two new games before DAV that BioWare put out were Anthem and Andromeda, probably two of the most infamous dudes in RPGs. I bought DAV because I was already invested in DA and really wanted to stab someone after an extended work trip. I was fully expecting to boot it up, hate it, and refund it. I’d never fault anyone for going “Fool me twice, shame on me. I’m not buying your game. I don’t care how good reviews are”
