Well I like mage, but the game has so much broken aggro, being as no matter what where when or how - 99% enemies only focus on me. It makes mage harder than f. The game really seems catered for warrior or melee rogue.

Voted. My favorite classes in most fantasy RPGs are usually the Warrior or the Rogue. In "Dragon Age: Inquisition," I played my first run as a Rogue, and now I'm playing as a Warrior in "Dragon Age: The Veilguard." For a second playthrough of "The Veilguard", I plan to try the Mage class.

The devs released out a stat the other day. Mage is the most popular at around 40% of players playing it.

Personally I'm actually enjoying Warrior a lot more than I was enjoying Mage. I liked the Mage powers but actively being able to kick your enemies off ledges is just so much more satisfying.

Mage has an ability that can do that, the cd based (no mana) electric blast attack

That makes more sense. I play mage elf in every single game lol. I think I've only ever been a human in Origins because I replayed it so many times to see the different intros. I'll have my first Qunari in this game.

Crow rogue elf was too good to pass on. I enjoy the rogue combat.

Normally I go with rogue or something in that vein in these games.

Mageblade was something I wanted to give a shot after I spent a few hours with warrior and rogue.

The staff mage is terrible, but Mageblade is easily my favorite class in the game. I just wish the game itself were more difficult.

Edit: start with a sword and shield and has enough faith to meld into different builds depending on weapons I want to use.

Mage has been my favourite but I also only have a few hours on rogue and warrior to get used to them. I loved the control build I had for my first full playthrough.

Curious how this straw poll will match up to what people have actually played. Bioware released some stats on social media the other day:

Mage 40%
Warrior 30%
Rogue 30%

Kind of fun that Sea of Blood where you rescue Lucanis is the mission with the most deaths so far.

Maybe I'll try warrior on my grey warden playthrough. I'm just worried I won't like it as much as mage and I'm too lazy to restart if I don't like it.
