Harding's Overpower
Harding's Overpower skill is supposed to make the Overwhelmed status permanent when you detonate it. I'm fighting the Sparky Troll Guy in Dock Town on Nightmare but he clearly loses the Overwhelmed status in the fight rather than it being permanent. On the other hand I don't seem to be able to re-apply which is what should happen (because it should be permanent). This is obviously non optimal and makes the skill useless if it's happening as it appears.

Has anyone else noticed this? Is the Overwhelmed effect maybe staying on the enemy in the background but it doesn't show up as a status? How would I even tell?

hm maybe only a visual bug. have you try just to detonate a second time?

You don't get further detonations from Harding's.. uh... skill that detonates overpower whose name I forgot. But I think that's supposed to be the case? At least I don't THINK you're supposed to be able to detonate it over and over again. My understanding is the tradeoff is supposed to be a permanent Overwhelmed debuff in exchange for not being able to repeatedly detonate. But maybe I am missing something.

It is possible it could be a visual bug but I don't know how to test that. Hit stuff before applying the Overpower debuff and see how much stagger it gains over time, then hit the same stuff afterwards and compare I guess, but that's not necessarily trivial to do.

there are some pendants or rings, that change debuffs into fire, nekro, ice and lightning dots. maybe one of these takes it away. But on other hand they only should do it on yours.

Dosent really see the debuffs since i only play on lower difficult, getting to old for higher ones :/ and the enemys are most of the time not healthy enough. except for bosses but there i got other porblems with aggro as a mage

Just to throw my two cents in.

I am having the exact same issue fighting Qamekmaster.

I just leveled Harding into "Overpower". The combo has been working fine the whole game. Overwhelmed is definitely not permanent after my Rook and Harding execute our first Combo, which is always successful. However every subsequent attempt at a Combo with Harding's Heavy Draw, just doesn't happen. My Rook does her part, but as far as I can tell Harding doesn't even use her ability (not that it isn't just not comboing or is just a visual glitch); she just isn't using it (though she does get put on cooldown for it).

Comboing the ability goes back to working fine if I respec her out of Overpower.

Pretty sure there's some misunderstandings happening here. This upgrade is working perfectly correctly for me.

1. Apply overwhelmed to a target and the target gets the overwhelmed debuff icon next to their name and the primed icon above their head. The debuff icon gradually loses its color from top to bottom as the timer on it runs out.

2. Detonate the primed overwhelmed target using Harding's Overpower upgrade to Heavy Draw and it detonates the primed effect causing the primed icon to go away but the overwhelmed debuff icon next to the target's name remains instead of being removed. It also becomes fully colored in and no longer times down meaning they now have the overwhelmed debuff permanently causing them to take additional stagger damage for the rest of the fight, and at +20% effectiveness if Harding also upgraded Heavy Draw with Fault Line.

3. Using any overwhelmed ability on the target from this point on no longer applies overwhelmed or the overwhelmed primed status, although such abilities do still apply all their other effects. This is the trade off for permanently increasing the amount of stagger damage they take from being overwhelmed. The target, however, can still be primed and detonated with weakened or sundered.

This upgrade plays well into a stagger heavy build, but less so a combo heavy one. If combos are a big part of your build then either don't spec into this upgrade or bring along additional combo capability.

Edit: There are some bosses that clear status effects, and I have not tested whether this clears the permanent effect and if so whether it allows for it to be reapplied.
