should i trust i will be able to come back to places if areas are blocked off with "currently inaccessible" or I don't have companion abilities to get to a certain chest and stuff like that? or if i miss a chest or an area can i expect that opportunity to be gone for the playthrough?

Yeah you revisit parts of the maps later for other quests

IMO this was one of the best QoL features they added to the game.

I personally go through everything. I can't help it. It's how I have so much gold, I sweep every little area and even blow up all the boxes and vases if I have time and energy. Then I sell all my valuables to whatever shop is closest to the next rank.
