Achieving the "Good Ending"
From the reading I've done, if you side with Traviso vs Minrathous you're unable to achieve the "good ending". Is this really the case? Is there no way to reach 3 star / 3200 with Minrathous if it is blighted? I have a hard time believing that such an early chose, especially one that changes the game so much, locks you from getting the "good ending"

The good ending seems to have two requirements. For one, you need to do all your companion quests. All of them need to be Heroes of the Veilguard before the point of no return, which you'll be made aware of before you go down that path.

I'm unsure about factions. I got the true ending with the Shadow Dragons at 2 stars, and everyone else at 3 stars because I saved Treviso instead of Dock Town. I don't know if it's possible to even get the faction from the city you didn't save to 3 stars. I've seen conflicting information on that, but it does not appear to be a requirement, at least it wasn't for me. It's just that by doing the companion quests, you naturally gain a lot of favor from their respective factions. Maybe that's why some people are saying you need 3 stars with everyone. Just make sure everyone is alive before the point of no return.

The other hard requirement is the Essence of Mythal, which you get from passing her test (answering all her questions correctly) and not challenging her to a fight.

During the final encounter there's going to be some really tough choices you have to make. One of the companion's death's is inevitable, and that does not lock you out of the true ending, but what will is trying to trick Solas. There's one specific optional dialogue choice that you will be given only if you have the Essence of Mythal, without it you will get a different ending.

Thanks for the reply! To answer your question, I sided with Minrathous my first run through and was able to 3 star Traviso without problems as there was enough quests to do so, I'm unsure there are for Minrathous as I had to sell quite a few items to 3 star them even after I saved the city.

In regards to the "true ending" is this the good ending?

Its possible to max all factions including docktown / traviso even though you didnt save it but you may have to sell all junk items to that faction before you cross that part of the story to further their reputation before their trade npcs are removed.

Yes it is. To be more specific, it's the ending where the veil is left in tact, Solas willingly binds himself to the fade which closes out his story arc and the Inquisitor's nicely, and most of the Veilguard survives the assault on Minrathous. I guess it also depends on if you like Solas even though that's likely going to be the canon ending considering how much care went into it, but the other two endings exist if you truly don't like Solas, just be careful, one of them will imprison you with him if your companions do not have Veilguard badges.

The best ending is the one where you trick Solas with the fake dagger and he admits he has finally met his match since he considers a defeat via trickery to be a "true" defeat. You can have this ending while everyone survives except the one obligatory companion death.

Nop, best is when Solas gets his girl.

There is a wisp vendor in the Crossroads for the faction vendor that was lost. You can sell items to it to bring up the faction score. You'll find it in the area where all the spirits are located.

This romance is why I re-rolled in Inquisition to elf. I'm getting that ending.

That will be my second playthrough as well, picking Sera as my Inquisitor's romance didn't even come up. I quite liked the Mourn Watch and I really wanted to play with that background but I figured I'm half way through I'll just do it next time.

It’s only mention in a codex letter if the inquisitor is with someone else other than Solas.

!! Just did my first ending and Even if you fight the dragon form of Mythal you still get her essance AND Mythal will show up to "realse" Solas- so you can fight her and still get the 'good'ending♡♡♡ Thought I did clear the blight and got all the corruptions- so maybe that let me get the Mythal ending- idk xD

Yeah, I had a huge stockpile of valuables at the end of the game that I was able to sell to max out the factions. As someone mention the faction for the city you did not help is at a wisp vendor in the crossroads.
Liageta 13 NOV 2024 a las 15:21
I got the "good" ending (You can see my achievement) without having all 3 star factions.

Everything was 3 star except shadow dragons, as I lost the vendor due to the choice you make, and I chose Treviso and was unaware that you could find the vendor in the crossroads.

The Mythal part is actually not true. I got her essence after fighting her dragon form and still got the good ending.
