Companions in story encounters
Hi all. When you get to story encounters, do only the 2 companions you travel with take place in these events or is the whole crew assembled?

Most of the time it's just the two, sometimes there's a third who is not a part of your party but does their own thing. Even rarer when you have your entire crew on deck for a mission.

It's similar to ME2.

I really dislike this part of it if I'm being honest. I sometimes forget to bring companions because I usually have my favorites in my party. I am nearing the end of the game and had to rush and include some of those characters in my final mission to raise their friendship level and rank.

Keeping 1 favorite, is just about all you can do, given some missions require certain characters.

:/ That sucks.

Most of the time one companion is forced into the scene or added onto the scene and you choose another companion which does interject and have dialogs (most of the time, not always).

I actually find it very immersive and every other party games (even BG3 honestly) really struggle to have that level of interactivity with optional companions.

It adds a bit of replay value and it's nice to see each character react differently to situations and sometimes changing slightly the scene. It's just a shame that other parts of the game are very much always the same on every playthrough though (a good half of the game if not more).
