What class did you pick and how are you liking it?
I went with Warrior, I have a habit of playing Warrior or picking the heavy plate wearing class for my first play through in most RPG games. I am trying to decide if I want to go as a Mage or Rouge for my second play through, I just haven't heard very much talk about the classes yet so i'm curious about the other ones.

Warrior has been fun so far, some situations and fights can be very annoying though but it's fun to play 90% of the time.

Warrior (Grey Warden spec) on my first pt. Shield throwing my way through almost every encounter. Two handed for masses of darkspawn.

Playing rogue (Dualist) atm. No strong feelings yet, but I love the speed of it. Especially after warrior.

I've tried all three classes throughout the opening part and I've settled on the Rogue (which is my favourite in the series anyway) but it was close and I can see myself playing the other classes down the road.

I've started over on nightmare and it feels fine so far.

Mage - spellblade. But it really start to shine only after lvl 20+ when u get spellblade combos.

First playthrough i went Dwarf Warrior with 2hander, focus on pushing out most of the mobs. On my second playthrough i go with Dwarf Rogue Longbow, range weakspot build.

Evoker. Crunchy icy goodness.

I picked rogue and I like it but I spend a lot of time dodging and running away from aoe, ranged attacks.

I play as a Human Mage for the first time. Maybe I will do a Elven Ranger second time. I am not the type for close-by fighting, but if I would ever do that, I probably would go for a Rogue.

Yeah.... you can't actually play as a ranger type in Veilguard. The bow will always be your secondary weapon, despite the specialization you build into. Without upgrades, you'll only have 8 arrows which refill over time (somehow?!). As a rogue, your primary skillset will be up close and personal with two melee weapons. That said, you can avoid melee combat somewhat, but that'll be a far slower combat style for you. As I said, the bow is your secondary weapon.

There are items and skills you can use to increase your quiver capacity+refill time, though. At least at one point I had 12 arrow capacity and I’m specced as a duelist. So a bow only build seems totally viable so long as you have the gear and abilities.

Sure, but you can't fire your bow with LMB. You still fire it with Q (on PC obviously). You could rebind for it, but it'll still feel clunky versus playing as a melee rogue.

You just have to put your keybind setting as rogue, when bow are on q its because its setted on warrior.
Mage.

But I am really annoyed with how every mob beelines towards you even if you just spam basic attacks.

Removing companion HP was a big step back imo, on top of dumbing down their stats and equipment.

However I've decided to always just take the warrior companion and spec into his taunt. At least that way I can kinda have some autonomy.

lol this isn't about keybindings. Bow will always be a secondary weapon. It's not like warrior who can switch between two weapon sets. It's always secondary. A backup.
