Level scaling = no buy
If the enemy levels up because I leveled up, then there goes the RPG part of the RPG. I outright refuse to play games with level scaling.

Level scaling is not good!

I don't know, I have been hitting dragons for 9999 damage on their weak spots...

Most RPG's don't have level scaling either.
It can work, it keeps combat fresh instead of just making it so you curb stomp everything but it just makes the game drag on in Veilguard.

Scaling makes these kind of games fun. Dont like it, either "get gud" or lower the difficulty to "♥♥♥♥♥"cat" level and go from there

You are right, RPGs are about variability of choice. How many options you have in Veilguard?

There is good level scaling and bad level scaling. I am not sure which this game falls into yet. If it takes you just as long to take down fodder enemies at level 30 as it did at level 10 then I feel like there is something wrong.

At some point in the leveling, adding skills, upgrading your weapons you really should start to feel more powerful.

So you never played Baldur's Gate 2 nor Dragon Age Origins.

No level scaling is often lame laziness because it's cheaper skip it. For sure Bethesda did a ton of junk level scaling but it was lazy level scaling.

A good level scaling uses min scaling down and max scaling up, and the value depending of each area or even combat.

In that case Oblivion is the worst rpg of all time. Get over yourself.

Oblivion is pretty terrible as far as level scaling is concerned.

What a game needs is a sense of progression and if you get that then level scaling can be useful to keep some form of challenge.

Too much level scaling and you end up just like in Oblivion facing random mobs with high level gear and over inflated stats.

No level scaling. Enemies will have a specific level. So because of that, there are some enemies where you might have to leave and come back later to beat them since they're very strong.

Is there a level-scaling? I never noticed. With level 17 I had a level 35 boss in my face once. With level 38 a level 50 dragon. Now I am level 49 and the regular mobs who attack me are level 45.
it stops at level 45 for the mobs.

But man, you should have tried doing that level 50 dragon at 20, it's such a fun fight there.

If you're running into an issue where things feel like you just can't kill them in a reasonable amount of time, then I'm assuming your build is bad. I'm generally killing things well over my level and they are just melting. But I'm also a mage going into the Antivan Crow tree, so I kind of figured I'd be on the higher end of damage, y'know, because mage, but especially melee mage. Honestly, the combat in this game has been great for me so far, I was worried after watching a review that said everything had way too much health and they did no damage so they turned down the difficulty to kill them faster. I'm playing on the max difficulty and they just melt, other than bosses.
