In DAI mod authors could replace textures to eg improve skin complexion, but it wasn't really possible to replace meshes eg the facial structure. The engine doesn't make modding easy.
That's why you just go to another Mod place, like BasedMods.
Eh, as long as it is compatible with the Frosty Mod Manager, it should be easy to make mods, assuming it doesn't do anything weird with the data structures, etc...
Oh don't get me wrong, not trying to discourage you or any potential modders, I'm just saying, this will not have a lively modding scene, both because creating anything is akin to sprinting through a minefield and because the popularity is just not where it was expected and the engine is kinda meh to mod. It's mostly the former.
The funny thing is I found modding DAI to be way more of a pain in the ass than DAO. I stuck to the DAI mod manager. It always worked, was easy to understand, and gave me no issues on 5 different modded playthroughs. If it's Frosty Mod Manager this time around then I don't think this game is going to have a strong modding community.
Last I checked, at least one of the developers of the tools is working on a Frosty v2, with the goal being making a more effective tool for the newer games, since the old tool is notoriously spaghetti under the hood.
If you google after it, you can pretty easily find Frosty Mod Manager web page and link to the official discord. There's some talk in there about the updates, even a few people asking after Veilguard specifically, but I reckon it's a long way off for now.
There are some github links floating around for early attempts at Veilguard compatibility, but most of this is confusing command-line stuff that you probably need a foot in the door to be able to use properly
I feel like the Popularity is exactly where it should have been expected, given what they did to the game. And Im not talking about the Woke stuff, I really dont care about that. Its the whole "lets remove every CORE SYSTEM that made the Dragon Age games stand out from all the other RPG games, and make this a Generic RPG 101 like all the others."
Given that, the game actually became more popular than I expected.
apparently you shouldnt be able to apply mods to a single player game.
well, it's not your game, you only have a license :D
this is why gog is better
Origins and DAII are a joke to mod compared to DAI because frosty mod manager is a ♥♥♥♥♥ to use. Not only are the former games manual mod friendly they also work amazing with NMM.
