Choices From Previous Games

The Dragon Age and Mass Effect trilogies, are known for their ability to carry over choices from entry to entry, creating a vast handcrafted saga where no two playthroughs are the same. I don't see anyone talking about this for Veilguard, so I ask all of you:

Does Veilguard continue our choices from Origins, 2, and Inquisition?
Or, is this effectively a soft boot, veering away from the trilogy that was beloved?

Does it matter if my Gray Warden is dead or alive?
Does it matter if Alistair and Leliana are hardened?
Does it matter if Hawk is a man or a woman?

Does anything carry over?

None of that matters, no.
Only three choices can be set from DAI on character creation:
Who the Inquisitor Romanced?
Was the Inquisition disbanded or not?
Did the inquisitor vow to stop or redeem Solas?

Only things which carry over are inquisitor's romance, whether inquisition got disabanded or not, and the inquisitor's attitude towards Solas.

This was all announced before release if you have access to google.

Biggest let down & killed any chances they had of was removing choice carry over, expect for the final 2 of inquisition. such bs for any fan of the series

They scrapped choices.

That was really my line in the sand they should never have crossed.

The game would have been epic and to me, and save it from the garbage heap, if they had written in the ability to have the first 3 games choices and endings factor into it. It literally created the narrative for 3 nations (Orlais, Ferelden, the Dwarves) several main characters that influences other games, and gave a massive potential Elven divisive issue depending on how they were treated through out the games. Not to mention the Mages and templar war, the Red lyrium AND the freaking darkspawn issue. Good gods the sheer potential of amazing story writing this game could have had if they actually thought to use it instead of using trans issues as a basis for a story......

Specking about Inquisitor romance I got a letter from Iron bull which was nice, can't remember how I got it but there it was in codex. Nothing else. Dorian says some standard line that to the inquisitor on someone going to be very happy to see you later and Inquisitor says something like I look forward to it. I think it is for all DAI romances and that's it. The 'choice' was a did you romance Solas in disguise choice because that is the only one that affects the ending were you get awkward kiss from Solas if you do 'good' ending.
