The combat is more dumbed down than Inquisitio's LMAO!

This game is going to flop and it should, this isn't Dragon Age anymore, Inquisition already dumbed down the gameplay but at least introduced the armor and barrier mechanics from Mass Effect and you could have a small size ability bar but thy were more than THREE what?, this is ABSURD! Inquisition was still a decent game this doesn't even look like that is just bad.

I mean, I never really played these games for the combat, but that means the story and choice/consequences have to be top notch... but your choices (so far) are just 1) Happy 2) Snarky 3) Stoic or else bring person A or person B with you >.>

DA:O was not an aRPG, it was a cRPG (albeit not the most complex one)
It was not suited for console and was neither developed for it.

But it can be done rather effectively anyway, see how Larian did with BG3.

Yeah, the watering down of features is a bad thing. But as console players must accept that more complex games might be bit of a hassle, PC players need to accept that games are not just for them. Bioware decided to publish their games on consoles, so they must cater to those limitations too.

BG3 works because it is turn based, RTwP without a keyboard and a mouse usually means a bad time.

Before I can actually play a game myself, I will hold on passing judgment wether a game as a whole is good or bad. I can just say wether it interests me or not, and the new Dragon Age does interest me.

Well this "desicions" have been present since DA2 when they started to try to make DA a ME clone.

People don't want that they want Dragon Age Origins style.

I really doubt that to be honest.
It might not speak to every fan from the elder games but it surely will find alot of new fans.
It targets a younger audience, it will do good and be a succes I guess.

After Baldurs Gate 3, the console limitation excuse does not work anymore because the console controls worked great. And the game sold like hell even though it was far from dumbed down.

I am so tired of these developers treating us all like we are morons who can't figure out things. I just don't know why they alienate the fans of the franchise to try and gain new younger players who don't seem to care much for single player games anyways.

I disagree.
It was modified to work for the console (obviously) and its much more of a hassle, but its perfectly workable (that is also my argument) but since the game is developed with console and not PC in mind, they still pick what is "easy" and "effective" for the limited controller.

BG3 sold much less on console than PC (obviously)
It was "ported" to console.

Movement, ui, etc.. is just much easier on the PC for such a game.
You even have examples of GHRTS games ported to console (they are not as popular as on PC and it is much more of a hassle and the ui is dumbed down to suit it)

Stellaris is a good example of this. (PC centric game ported to PC)


When you see console games ported to PC, they are seldom given a better ui or new options in that direction or different combat.. the console limitations just stick.


The vast majority of console players are rather casual (alot on PC to ofc) they don´t want complex stuff, they want easy fast paced action.

If you disagree or not doesn´t change anything. Baldurs gate was not the only one sucessfull on consol their othere titels(Divinity) where also and is not the only crpg(PoE, Pathfinder, Wasteland...) wo is now on consols.

Where sold more of that on PC? Sure. But with hat you can also argument that Superheo games don´t work on PC because they always sale better on Console.

Origins was great, 2 got horribly dumbed down, inquisition was pretty decent, and I was excited for a real crpg again.
