Makes me wonder if this game was changed in MID development and it was maybe going to be non ESG/DEI, but now with the name change and who is now officially seen as the LEAD director, this game is going to FLOP bad for Bioware/EA.
brother it got flip flopped like 50 times during the entirety of its development. have you seen the leaked gameplay from like years ago?

I like the new name better. The blog post says that the title should not focus on the antagonist, but instead on the player.

So following Inquisition, the force that you're leading, I'm guessing this new character we will play will try to "guard" the veil from being broken/ripped by Solas or something like that.

That's why I think The Veilguard is fitting, that is who we gonna become.

This does not bode well.
Changing the name 5 years after it is anounced is insane, if those in charge are such idiots to do such a thing the game will probably be a disaster.
How awesome was the name Dreadwolf? Veil guard lmao what a bunch of clowns.

And to think I had hope for this game....
It's all gone now.

100% dreadwolf was probably one of the best sequel names in both dragon age history and rpg history if you ask me. That was the most badass, well said title name I’ve ever seen. Now we got some yee type ♥♥♥♥.

Except the last and last few games have alluded to the almighty dreadwolf being the biggest evil so this game being named dreadwolf would be a amazing conclusion to that timeline. You can be someone in game but ultimately this game isn’t about you, hell no game is about you. It’s always about who your FACING AGAINST.

I very much like the new name. It is much better, and I am sooooo happy the game will not be focused on Solas/Dreadwolf.
Also, the name change does not in any way represent problems with the game. Such a conclusion is plain silly. The name change could've happened years ago, or at least months ago. Seems like a bunch of you have your whole reason for existence tied to hating on Bioware, and are desperate for anything, no matter how ridiculous, over which to attack and vilify Bioware. But this only makes you guys look bad, not Bioware. And recent medical research shows living with anger/hate leads to a shortened lifespan. So good luck to you all.

i also love the when a franchise hypes up a single character for two whole games and then decides or the third to just scrap the ending of that character's lore.

dude come on.

This is nonsense, you really think people want to hate Bioware just for the hell of it?
We don't hate, we are just dissappointed.
I have always loved Bioware, Ive been playing their games since I was a little kid, I grew up with Baldur's gate and Fallout,Kotor etc.

I understand the name change. I wish they didn't promote it as something else. I prefer Dreadwolf. I am suddenly concerned about the direction of the game thinking about the developers who left. There has to be dragons of course. Thinking they should have released pictures not a video since this one isn't very good.

It makes me think they are shifting too far from what we expected it to be. Stay with what works. Do not morph this game into some other popular game and leave D&D behind.
