We know for sure that Dreadwolf has been rebooted once, since the original premise was "Anthem with dragons" and this definitely doesn't seem to be that; but I suspect the project has changed direction repeatedly. They were probably planning to make another open world game and are now facing pressure to retrofit that into a Baldur's Gate 3 style CRPG because BG3 is hot these days. Unfortunately that plan will backfire if they can't replicate it's depth of choice and consequence, which is kind of a given. I can already see the game being mercilessly mocked on YouTube.
