How's Black Mesa coming along?
I'd like to know whether I'm gonna buy this game or not. Whether your first project functions or not will be the deciding factor.

Black Mesa is one of the highest rated games on Steam and has gone on sale for under $5 before. May as well try it yourself and find out.

I did try it and it doesn't work. The game crashes during the intro section of the game. Not just for me, mind you, but for enough people that I'm convinced this is a developer error.

I would make a formal bug report if I were you. I have never heard of that problem before and I've owned the game for like 3 years now. A few people on Reddit or Steam reviews might not be noticed by the dev.

Oh they noticed it alright. Now the question is, will they make this game (of 3 years now) playable, or will they abandon it, mid-development?

They finished Black Mesa after working on it for over 10 years. Even so, I wouldn't take much from that since it was an entirely different project compared to this (since it's an indie remake, that started as a mod and this is an original title which is contracted to a publisher).

Black Mesa wasn't "abandoned" it's a singleplayer story game. It was completed. If it doesn't work on your machine you need to enter a dialogue with a developer who can help you.

I did, they said they'd work on it. Now I'm holding them to it. Dialogue only leads to results if it is acted upon afterwards.

Yeah, that's not exactly my problem. sucks you're 1 in a million who can't play the game but you haven't even given anyone a reason to empathize or speculate.
