How to mod guns?

I'm playing solo in practice mode, And I cannot figure out how to mod weapons.

Double click a weapon you want to modify (can't be one that's equipped) and it'll show you the attachments and stats of the weapon. From there you can add and remove parts by clicking and dragging.

Ah okay thank you, What does Mastery do?

Each level of mastery gives you +8 Damage, +1 Accuracy, and +5 Fire Rate.
