Acquiring New Units?

Hi,
Enjoying the game, but is there a way to Purchase additional units?
Unless I'm missing something, I've only seen an option to "Replace" units...
I don't want to replace my units, but I'd love to add additional ones...

If this is not an option, what was the rationale?

You have a limited number of slots for Core units, though you can freely updrage them by, for example, replacing riflemen with snipers or a QF 25-pounder. Best part is that they do keep their XP and you don't lose prestige points by selling or buying, so the game doesn't punish you for experiments!

That's fine, but I was looking for a way to 1. Importantly - add Core units............... but if I had to 2. add Auxiliary units... both to the Campaign.

Not even allowing a couple of extra core units after first map?

It seems that you cannot add to the core units. I am only beginning Carentan, so maybe later? It does feel odd, since so many other games allow core expansion, but then this game is definitely different.

Hi vasilythecat - Each campaign starts with 6 core units, but over the progression of the campaign, 2 further core units are added to your roster, so you finish the campaign with 8. This occurs on each campaign.

core units can be acquire i think every 3 scenarios or 2 or just like this you get one after 2 one more after 5 and 3ird for last battle..as i saw they gives you 3 new core units for the entire campaign
