FINALLY! Homeworld 3! Wait?.. IT BOMBED?! WHY???
I looked at the reviews there's lots of bad ones, a rare few that are over 30 hours played, and even the positive reviews seem disingenuous "It's a great game BUT(and they list some big buts like they're Mix-A-Lot.).

Things that stood out to me were "7 hours of missions", Great! at $63 with tax that's like $10 a hour, I think 900-numbers give me more fun with the ladies for longer!

"Always ONLINE", Great! WHY?!! It's a single player game, in fact in my experience when games have online components it's because they want to up sell extra features to the game. Game companies should thank god & customers alike that we bought your game for $60 and didn't pirate it because Denuvo is junk that doesn't prevent piracy.. Speaking of!

DENUVO DOESN'T PREVENT PIRACY. Let me repeat that DENUVO DOESN'T PREVENT PIRACY. It just jacks up the game for paying customers and allows people who pirate that game to get a superior version of the game WITHOUT DENUVO. Please, just stop it.

"Started work on the game last year or so", I don't know when work started but considering 20 years went by between 2 and 3 it sure looks like a last minute thrown together mess with a small team of 3 or 4 people to support someones bad sci-fi movie project.

TOO MUCH EMPHASIS ON HOMEWORLD 3 THE MOVIE and not Homeworld 3 THE GAME! Look buddy, if you were any good at making movies Hollywood would employ you but you're not, you make games, make the game, you can tell the story in simple stick figure comics and nobody will care if the game is good!

FEAR NOT I CAN SAVE THIS GAME! Am I genius? A madman?... YES!

#1 CHUCK THE DRM! It doesn't matter, being good to your fan base will get you all the money you want!
#2 CHUCK THE ALWAYS ONLINE COMPONENT! Not needed, doesn't help you one bit, it annoys your fans and going back to #1 if you're good to them they're good to you!
#3 Give HEAVY support to the modding community. Dang modders will save your game, trust me on this.
#4 CHUCK future plans to sell more content until you've fleshed out single player missions to 40 hours. 40 hours for $60 is a reasonable expectation of content.
#5 Kenshi! Great PC game runs terribly. People have played HUNDREDS of hours on a poor running game because the game is a open-world dynamic universe. Why isn't there Kenshi in space? WHY?? There ya go: do KENSHI IN SPACE! WHHHHHHY? Because original Homeworld took the RTS and put it in space, Kenshi is a next level RTS that Homeworld should've taken to SPAAAAACE.
#6 HW3 Cutscenes belong on Mystery Science Theater 3000 with a guy and two robots making fun of it. FIX THEM! A quick way is to do it Wing Commander(DOS) style and cut it down to the minimum of still shots and some brief explanation to understand the mission.
#7 Fix pathing! You're seriously going to release a RTS with pathing issues where units getting stuck is probably one of the more frustrating flaws a RTS can suffer? FIX THE PATHING!(Seriously, there's no wiggle room on this people hate RTS games with bad pathing.)

A game where you can have robot ninjas fight bug samurai to distract from your courier running opium into the city.

Sounds insane.

Perfectly average day.

Oh and don't miss prayer day.

40 hours of rts campaign content is very much on the very long end. I dont know a single non sandox rts that has a 40 hour campaign. The original homeworld was maybe 20 hours on a first playthrough and less then 10 on subsequent playthroughs and that sold for the equivelant of 76 dollars in todays money

I just looked it up Kenshi, is it one of those amazing games that happens to look like poop, like Terraria or something? It has a retro 2002 Neverwinter Nights kinda look.

KENSHI. All day, every day. :steamhappy:

Also, Starsector (Kenshi in space). You won't find it on Steam though.

Starsector is self-distributed and no, it isn't Kenshi (it's its own thing and predates Kenshi from what I recall too. You need a few mods to get it to have 4x elements :P )
Its just not homeworld, the look and feel is there, the grand story and emotional connection isnt.
