I honestly am struggling to understand how any game studio can be handed a legacy like Homeworld, with a cliff hanger like the end of HW 2 and end up producing .... this. How could this have happened?
Yes, exactly. There was one point that really stood out to me, Imogen was talking...and talking...and talking then it suddenly cut to the ship half way through the hyperspce jump, you know the rectangle of light part, and she was still talking..talking.. before commanding the jump to proceed as it was ending, it was completely out of wack.
In a horribly masochistic way, I want to see what ended up on the cutting room floor.
I think its more than that, and they also cut out some plot critical missions or dialogue. I think it was so bad what we got was a result of panic.
Now I can't find any info on that anywhere else but that post, so I dunno if it's true or not.

That would explain a lot. I would love to know what caused the rewrite, see some of the cut content. I think it would be very enlightening.
I played 1 and 2 I think. For me its a little like the Alien 3 movie, it doesnt work as a 3rd instalment and it doesnt surpass what went before.
