Why didn't they get Relic Entertainment

Also the answer is quite simple, the owner of the IP (in that case gearbox) didnt hire them.

Because the current relic doesn't have any of the actual original relic employees anymore (the ones that worked on homeworld 1 and 2). BBI is founded by two of the original Relic employees and is therefore BBI can be thought as closure to original relic than the current relic is. Originally when the HW IP was being sold, BBI tried to buy the Homeworld IP but being a startup they could not outbid gearbox.

You definitely are new here considering the first two games are HW 1 (Relic made) and HW Cataclysm (Barking Dog made).

Relic also bombed AoE4, even though some kids will try and tell you otherwise. The player numbers don't lie. Relic hasn't made a decent game in over a decade tbh.

As stated, go play Sins2 or even AoW: Planetfall. Much better space/strategy games that whatever the hell happened to HW3.

Wish the internets came out with some type of web based application to look up knowledge on such things when Relic Entertainment was bought out in 2013. damn, wish someone can invent such a thing. You know how much knowledge we could acquire by ourselves if we had such a thing?
