Maybe one day? Maybe they're still discussing it. Maybe they're just wanting to get the PC version out the door and will think about it in a couple of years time. Maybe never. Nobody will be able to answer a future unknown.

If yes, then install Ubuntu or Mint on a separate partition and install HW3 through Steam.
Now I play exclusively on mac, Homeworld 3 will run, native way or thru translation layers. Losing 15-20 percent of performance, and this is my most concern case.
My question was about native release, not about that will run. Because will run without issue.
maybe they will in the future? I hope apple considers making a gaming handheld but they are too focused to ruin the iphone battery life
Modern Mac are more than capable of gaming. I am playing Baldur's Gate 3 with Ultra setting on my Macbook Air M2, using a 4k external monitor, with no issue.
Game porting toolkit, last year
And one this year WWDC they teased game porting toolkit 2.
In principal this is a developer tool, but… is easy to setup by non developers, and plenty of people are using it like mac proton equivalent, me as well. For my 95% of launched games works perfectly fine.
Steam Hardware Overview showed MaxOS with 1,47% and Linux with 2,3%

Under Linux i wouldn't care about native Support, the performance with Steam Proton are equal to Windows Systems already (besides RTX effects).
How to run and install Linux and what Linux distro gives more performance? The answer is here:
