Let's talk about upcoming space games for Fall 2024

Since HW3 is "officially" in a coma by the community, yes it's in a coma barely holding on after 89 days since release with an avg player base on steam of 20-80 players with a hopeful number of 100 players during a full moon while Saturn is in retrograde. Also with not a single damn official word from BBI and GBX after a patch, and an annoucement of the upcoming paid DLC for JUL release... oh, what? It's already 3 weeks till Sept? Yeah. HW3 is in a coma and even if they do release the faction DLC with a hopeful new wargames mode. It's not coming back without a BBI and GBX statement.

SO, let's talk about some other space games that will bury, blow, burn this game(HW3) for 2024. I'm looking forward to these three games:

(If I remember a modder from one of the HW games created this game based off his HW mod and it's been in development for so many years... I think 10+ years? I could be wrong.)

With all the feedbacks received they should simple Remade Homeworld 3 and release it in Spring 2025.

What other space games are you looking forward to?

Era One has been in development for around 6-7 years and it's the Complex Mod crew under Behgins or however the hell you spelled his name. Their stunt to the HW RM community kinda shows they're still on their fame grift, hope they can actually deliver as their timelines with the mod weren't always the greatest.

Starminer is interesting but it's more horde survival mode with base building from what I know.

Falling Frontier - that doesn't have a launch date yet and is, AFAIK, a 1 man operation so if he finally ♥♥♥♥♥ or decides to get off the pot (cancel the game) is anyone's guess at this point (I think he's perfection spiraling at this point as we've been waiting for the game for around 2-3 years now without much joy and we all know it's going to be EA more likely than not so it makes little sense to delay it so much).

I played the demo for Breachway, I expected it to be a different kind of game and while I was not particulary fond of deck building games I must admit that this had me intrigued.

Would definately buy it when it comes out.

The funny thing about Breachway, is BBI has a very similar game they went radio silent on called Earthless

If we are including upcoming space combat sims I would also suggest “In The Black”

If you want a indie game that is already out, House of the Dying Sun has a strong Homeworld feel. However, you’ll see nearly all of it in about a weekend.

Oh yeah, heard about the game, it was apparantly made by a guy who made the space fighter section for Halo Reach.

I also heard that it is not very long, but I would like to give it a spin and try it out in VR as well.

Definitely House of the Dying Sun is a lots of fun and great gameplay, Infinity Battlescape to watch out as well.

50$ for a hollow game with just Skirmish and Multiplayer.
100$ for adding a story to that hollow game which haven't even been released yet.

I heard about that, I am sure development is completely suspended after HW3 fiasco and letting go of staff.
