...so will there be mods or no mods?
I constantly see people saying here that there will be no mods, only map mods.

Please provide the source of this or source of debunking.

If there will be no mods, then It's not worth a buy for me.

Additionally, I wonder if there will be save option during skirmish, like in HW1/2/R, but it will probably be as usuall the minimul viable product (which means no save in skirmish, liek in Deserts of Karak :( ).

No mods only maps. Can't even rely on modders to fix this game. Once again, Dev's don't realize that a strong modding community can really help with keeping a healthy, active community for years to come.

It was said in the past that there will be mod support but this was before they sprung Denuvo on us, which incidentally has introduced specific anti-tamper measures for UE games that encrypts game files.

yes and since then they have also said that the only mod support will be a tutorial on how to make you own maps in UE if you want to delve into UE further that its up to you! ( ie none)

One year old tweet, but it states clearly it's modding with maps and ships:

...so in the end we are still not 100% sure :(

Except that you can have denuvo and modding simultanously. The people posting that you can't are just upset about the inclusion of denuvo.

An example of a game with mod support and denuvo is anno 1800.

Thing is that Anno 1800 doesn't run on Unreal Engine 4.

Denuvo has specific antitamper measures in place for Unreal Engine that essentially encrypts game files which will theoretically make it an absolute chore to mod. https://irdeto.com/news/denuvo-by-irdeto-unveils-new-features-for-enhanced-gaming-security-at-gamescom/
So without further clarification how in depth Denuvo is going to be you can more or less write off any serious modding on Homeworld 3.

Except one could say the exact opposite of you shouldnt write anything off until you know denuvo is being implemented, especially when the devs have posted there will be comprehensive modding tools. Honestly though this is all a non issue in my opinion cause i doubt anyone will really want to mod homeworld 3. All the homeworld 2 modders are already used to the hw2 engine and even then there was not a push to mod hw remastered significantly even though it uses the hw2 engine. I cant imagine the serious modders will be interested in modding hw3.

Outside of maps and ships, as others have stated, you will not get mods as long as they use Denuvo.

Emm, outside maps and ships (and weapons I presume) - what other mods do you expect comparing to HW2R?
Ships allow total conversions - like Star Wars or Wing Commander mods from HW2R.

It's not like we expect someone to mod First Person Shooter into HW3 gameplay.

Total Conversions have way more going for them than just ships and the wording used is "augment" which implies existing rather than adding new.
Total Conversions add a lot more than just ships and if for example unable to add things like new weapons, new effects, modify textures, change unit behaviors etc then frankly more complicated mods just won't happen.

At moment because left in dark with the details of how denuvo is being implemented can only guess at worst case scenario.

Without sub systems and modules modders won't to be able to do a lot of neat stuff. Also, if the game had great mod support you could theoretically mod the single player campaign to do stuff like, increase unit roster, balance changes, increase TTK, add back in sub systems, ect. Basically fix the sub par experience we are going to get on launch.
