It sits next to the Pride of Hiigara. It feels like i shouldnt do this as it hurts my soul to see the Pride of Hiigara sitting next to something so... 2023.
$5 in resin... plus at least a couple of hundred for a decent printer, other consumables like IPA, the time to model it (unless there is a free version floating around), print it, clean up all the mess from a resin print. Then the money and time needed for paint, maybe an airbrush and compressor while you're at it? And that's ignoring the time needed to learn the necessary skills to perform all this.
This argument is about as genuine as the "I made this [piece of furniture] for only [random but low amount of money]" videos on YouTube. Sure, the material cost might have been low compared to buying something off the shelve, maybe even the Swedish flat pack stuff, but you can't do anything like it without the thousands of currency units for equipment, a decent workspace, and the skill needed to not leave a couple of fingers behind.
3D printer hobbyist here. Yeah, it's a hobby and a time consuming one. You gotta enjoy the whole process. It's gonna be awesome at the end, but it's not for everyone.
