Yeah this hits home. I was slapping the table and holding my forehead so often when playing the campaign. Just wanted to skip.
I remember there was some fool on here who kept going on and on about. " Wait til you see the antagonist! " as if they had some inside knowledge and that it was going to be great.
I think that idiot thought we were going to see the beast again or something.
The story is okay, I wouldn't describe it as bad but it's been underwhelming for sure. You've seen this type of story a hundred times before. Some of the cinematics even gave me an impression of something you would see in games 20 years ago. I hope the future DLC's and Wargames will give the game some desperately needed depth, strategy and replayability because as it stands, it's definitely not worth the current pricetag.
Ships battles are not fun; zerg and blob; no paper-rock-sissors that I can see.
Always too much resources on hand and, not like HW1/HW2 where the resources you earn/waste over the campaign really matters because it's finite.
Carriers are pointless; no value. Docking / undocking is pointless (let me dock my ships at the end of the mission before we warp? - no control) - HW1/HW2 you could dock the ships in a carrier and warp the carrier .. at least there was a point.
Maybe it's me, maybe I'm just getting old, but not as old as this game feels already.
I think its a good mix of new stuff and old, just some balancing issues that can absolutely be fixed post launch.
