I DO think there are a handful of levels that use the terrain and it's kinda neat.
I agree this game took a step backwards instead of innovating. The units are kind of dull, the combat feels too fast and spamy and the levels are waaaay to short and scripted. Art, graphics, and audio design is phenomenal (minus the effects, kind of underwhelming). It feels like someone new took over lead of game design who didn't quite understand that "Homeworld" feel. It's suppose to be a space naval combat game, not Starcraft 3 in space. TTK is still too fast, you build units too quickly, and there isn't a lot of time to employ tactics let alone strategy.
The game looks great but past that it feels like a massive downgrade and the characters feel so meh.
Hopefully the modding community can make it into something great again but I'm getting tired of games missing the mark and modders having to fix everything.
Also the CTRL attack select sucks in this current version, everything that gets the command targets the same thing rather than how it used to work with units targeting things that they are good against. Like my interceptors will target a carrier rather than the other fighters in the attack select which makes it literally useless.
Man I really hope the post launch support is good.
