'Out of video memory' [M2 Mac via Crossover]
Hey - yeah yeah, I also have a Windows rig. Anyway...
I have an M2 Mac Mini with 16Gb of shared memory, and am getting a 'not enough memory' when I try running this. I've seen others saying they have no problem with similar specced machines, so I think my issue is my ultrawide monitor's high resolution.

Is there a guide somewhere about adding a command-line prompt to force a more conventional / lower resolution windowed or 'full'-screen, in HW3 / on Steam? I'd like to see if a lower resolution eg 1440 or 1080 would resolve this shared memory problem.

Thanks!

Hmm... What about enabling High Resolution Mode? Have you tried it?

Just calculating: 16gb of total memory there for CPU and GPU combined.

2-3GB will go for MacOS.
Potentially 5-8GB will go into the CPU part of the game.
The remaining memory may just not be enough for all the textures, models and calculation buffers to render the game.

Reducing the output resolution will only slightly help, these are just a few megs of frame buffer, nothing significant.
What might help is reducing the texture resolution to its lowest setting (if it's sufficient) ... This will free up lots of memory, but quality may suffer quite a lot.

All in all, while Apple is selling this as miracle chip, the M2 just is what it is, a specialized SoC that does very well what it's made for, but can't change physics like having only as much as bough of memory for everything(!) combined in the system. It's no universal gaming machine and it can't make data disappear that does not fit into the memory, even if their marketing boss tried to claim that lately.
