About buying a truck before the Santa Fe mission

I just left a lot of trailers and platforms to finish the Santa Fe mission. About 5 of these what do you think about buying trucks in advance beforehand?

And which would be more efficient to get, a heavy platform or a full gas trailer

Heavy platform all the way, you won't need fuel truck until you get helicopter.

Advice for the future, since it's hard to notice - HEMTT trucks can tow heavy platforms, but not trailers. So in Santa Fe if you have HEMTT fuel truck - it'll take heavy platform with it too.

About buying a truck - it'll pay for itself basically, but that's it if I remember correctly. Including fuel tank that you'll sell, yeah. Calculate the cost of said truck (1272 gwp = 12720 supply), the supply it'll eat till Santa Fe (2400-4000 depending on difficulty) and the profits that you'll get from full gas trailer (2070 gwp - 20700 supplies). So you spend 14120-16720 supplies and gain 20700 after selling oil truck. Next stop if 5 days trip so you'll spend another 5k supplies to get there, thus ending in your total spendings for said truck between 19120-21720 supplies.

Now if it's only for Santa Fe - you can sell the truck there as well and gain 1272 gwp back. This way it is quite profitable, yeah.

TL:DR - it is profitable if you sell it and any truck it can tow right after the mission.

There are two artillery heavy platforms to loot, just take them.

Even with Helicopters (I have 2), You do not need to keep fuel trailers.

1. You can land helicopters during missions when You do not need to use them
2. So far all maps (on Oklahoma now) had either "free" trailers to grab, or allies offer fuel and supply "zones" for free where You can rearm.

I grab all possible traktors (leave/sell the dosers, too expensive to maintain) as soon as possible, they are well worth their supply upkeep.
You can tow trailes and platforms off the map at the end of missions with them (just make sure to refuel and resupply Your units from the trailers before You leave the map).
The most such loot I had from: Abiquiu, Santa Fe, and VEGA was a gold mine
You can sell emptied trailers and surplus patforms for Goodwill Points and You can exchange tose for daily suppies after each map.
Extra tips:
- You can add gunports (HMG or canon) and armor to traktors, so You can use them during the maps as "stationary" gunplacements to defend enemy aproaches.
- Take Your time on the maps before exiting, to rearm Your units and to locate all abandoned equipment so You can take them with You to sell or use
- Make sure to buy all technicians at all camps, so You can drive the looted vechicles and train them to drive tanks as much as possible
