Compared to the Terminator Nuke Scene
....this is pretty darn good for those of you who haven't seen it (including the Dev Team). This is pretty crazy and sad at the same time (the very part where he's on horseback trying to get away with the little girl).........The music was intense for that few seconds on horseback too.

In a new Terminator Movie, I hope they use a scene similar to this to grab attention

It was disappointing to me, honestly. First of all, you don't want your nukes to surface burst for maximum devastation, you want them to airburst. Secondly, when people call nukes sunshine-in-a-can, it's because when they go up, a small sun is born, and I don't see a lot of that in the FO pilot intro. At the distance and the apparent yield of that first nuke, everybody out in the open should be suffering from at least second degree burns, and lightly flammable material around the area should be set on fire. And only then shoulkd the shockwave roll in. To say nothing about the actual flash blinding everybody that is somehow missing from the entire scene.

flash and heat plus initial radiation burst -> shockwave -> suction wave -> fallout
PainGod: Thank you for your response. You took a lot of time to explain your opinion on it. I feel that since it's in the Fallout Universe, maybe that's simply how their Nukes operate? They say the Terminator 2 Nuclear Bomb Scene was more accurate (even though we're talking about older 90s special effects/cgi).

It seemed in this FO Nuke Scene that the FIRST NUKE took time to mature to the mushroom, where the other Nukes that were detonated as the Girl , Man and Horse retreated were pretty quick to develop. Maybe it was just the way they decided to do that scene.......

I am pretty uncomfortable at nuke scenes but IMO the best nuke scene is in Barefoot Gen anime, truly devastating and gruesome.
