Oklahoma...so frustrating... help....
So... Kinda regretting my choices right about now. So many Humvees, so little Infantry. And i got rid of all my Movement troops except the Techs.... and my TRAILERS OF DOOM. Much Regret is being had.

Like I GOT THE FIREPOWER to do this mission, but my god it is a SLOG hopping form building to build and encounter to encounter.

Any Tips?

First thing, usually on my list, is destroying the Legion artillery.

Most certainly tops the list, cus MAN that shelling is oppressive. I suppose i can get a Convoy of Recoiless Rifles and 50 Cals together and see what they manage to achieve. Suppose it depends on how many Spiders and Smaw wielding Robots they bump into on the way.

I have artillery as well but.... ya got to get it in range of theirs first.

Well, its hard to give good advice there because to me, the key to that mission is a mix of capable infantry and artillery. All doing a slow and methodical advance.

Hummers are good for supporting infantry and tanks but they don't hold up well as a main force in the end game...

I can tell you this though: Legion arty on the map does not have perfect vision. They have a lot of pre-placed troops but if you clear them out, you can safely move your artillery up to destroy theirs.

Enemy spawns are also fairly low until you do something to upset Legion (you will know it when the game tells you), making it viable to clear out and consolidate the entire map if you take your time. Lots of pre-placed enemies but only very limited reinforcements.

Use some snipers as recon to get an idea of the surroundings. Take your time and make sure to search all the buildings. You can get two of each Founder infantry in this mission, potentially saving your butt there.

Also, don't rush getting the HIMARS. They can wait until you clared out the area.

Yeah thats kinda what im Banking on at this point. Got find those troops hiding in the buildings.

Given the sheer amount of buildings and narrow streets in this mission, the MOVEMENT would have a FIELD DAY on this map. Heavy weapons teams in the buildings along with some Miltia, Trailers locking down the avenues of approach, destroying incoming Tanks and SWATTING those Hunter Killers paroling the skys.

1st,

Don’t forget to prepare for “Saxon’s” for es, arriving from the West. If you are lucky, he will enter the map straight into a bunch of Legion forces.

2nd,

Take over and Fortify the South. Beware of the Legion, beyond the second underpass.

3rd,

Rescue the Founder forces to the South-East. They will provide you with more infantry and Tanks.

4rd,

When it comes to saving the Rangers, by calling an Evac(North-West), remember to clear the Spider Anti-Air patrol or you will not get the achievement.

5th,

Also, if you try to rescue de HIMARS(Center Map), beware of Spider ATGM to the North of that location! Have Spotters and ATGMs of your own ready, looking North or Smoke the Hell of the area and get the HIMARs to the rear quickly.

Last,

Having good ATGMs, infantry or Hummers, is important. Also don’t forget spotters with good camouflage. If need be, dismount a driver and send him to scout.

You can neutralize the Legion heavy guns with our own, counter-battery is a good strategy and you should use it without restrain (the supplies depots have one reload on the map) + don't forget to steal the two M109 paladins by sending enginners/crews before the originals crews come out of the school where they are hidding. Founders'infantry with MLAW and rocketman/powerlifter perks are able to do God's work in the target rich ruins. Put some defense to greet Saxon's forces, with enough firepower to disable (not destroy) their vehicles, you can grab some Humvee, M113 and one bradley if you're carefull. M113 with ATGM/ plasma RR can really be a great addition to support a infantry defensive line, a push or an armored spearhead.
It's never easy. You might consider replaying to come back with better army.

There are very many Founders soldiers and vehicles hiding in ruins.
M109 paladins have unlimited ammo if you give them to allies and they can cover you whole game.

Yeah, grabbing the M109's is kind of a trap. If you have them, they have finite ammo and are worse in almost all respects than a howitzer platform.

I just HIMARSed em.

Grate Advice, I got 3 ATGM squads (2 of which got AA missiles) and enough hummers to start a Car Dealership, Infantry wise..... Like a Moron forgetting how URBAN this mission is i got rid of MOST of my Movement troops. All i got is the Starting Founder's Troops, the troops you get from Siding with the Deserters and 5 squads lvl 2 Militia with SOCOM Rifles and Frag Grenades.

The worst part of the Artillery bombardment is it can blow up the abandoned vehicles.

Sadly i don't think im gonna have the "squads" to man all those vehicles but I can certainly TRY. Id imagine you would turn off the HEAT Rockets and just let your troops pepper the Vehicles with plasma more SOCOM rifles and MG fire.

Plus its also easy to CAMP his spawn with MINES.
Spirit_Miku May 13, 2024 @ 10:31pm
Beat that mission on 5 fps before they optimised it that is by setting up mines absolutely everywhere to the point they couldnt get near me, i also did the same as you with my units ended up with 8 humvees 6 bradlys and 4 abrams tanks with 3 trucks and trailers with no inf at all.
TemplarScott May 14, 2024 @ 2:01am
low infantry damn man i used them the most atgm and infantry with plamsa weapons were the dominators of my playthrough militia were my scouts always moving in first to spot enemy positions ,i rarely used vehicles at all except humvee with atgm top weapon used them alot

I dont understand how infantry and light vehicles only would work? Thr sheer amount of legion tanks I had to face made Abrams and Bradleys a dire necessity.
