Should be the case - it takes a while though as the units have a good ammo supply for multiple skirmishes. But I did notice ally artillery going silent after a while because they ran out of ammo. (a situation you hopefully never encounter if you battle artillery as you should eliminate them ASAP)
2. No idea - I prefer kill them fast.
3. A lot of side missions will be missed if you don't follow them. It can ended up with different outcomes.
1. Depends on the map, that said at least so far (and for other games on the same engine with Warfare/Syrian Warfare) only basic weak enemy infantry and light enemy armor will infinitely respawn and at a slow rate, I'm also convinced they only start spawning near the end of a mission and there's missions with none of these infinite "Harrassment" forces. (Weak enough your army can easily kill them but strong enough to punish leaving weak units alone.)
2. Not..sure, I'd have to crack open the map scripts somehow but the way it seems to work in both this and Syrian Warfare (as I can confirm via Syrian Warfare's mission editor) is that enemies slowly regenerate ammo to compensate for no logistical AI, so they can temporarily run out of ammo.
In addition enemy artillery either regenerates ammo super slowly or not at all so those will definitely run out or start firing super slowly.
3. Game is linear, the openeness more comes from various side objectives, some of which are mutually exclusive by working with different factions.
There is technically a world map however you need "supply" to travel (with a larger army costing more supply) and so far the game is extremely stingy with supply, to the point where I'd never risk going anywhere the story doesn't require me to.
1)on some missions yes, but so far the game feels very VERY forgiving with the infinite spawns. Oklahoma is a big pet peeve of mine, that mission needs to be way WAY harder. I'm attacking a legion FACTORY, it should have gear rolling off the assembly lines CONSTANTLY at me. I should feel compelled to hack the production lines to stem the bleeding, instead I do it for the lulz and then sit there for TENS OF MINUTES without a single enemy unit exiting. and when they do exist, it's some lethargic useless small force like 1 tank or 2 spiders that vanishes in SECONDS to my squads camping the facility. They call this place the meat-grinder? more like the boredom grinder. Vega is another example where the supposedly harsh and unforgiving onslaught of the marauders is ... 1 or two technicals every so often like ... 5-10 minutes apart. Yawn. There is no pressure, no rush to keep pushing, no urgent need to capture the east gate to stop the reinforcements.
2)they absolutely do. But like your own units, it takes a bit of a firefight for them to actually run out. they do run out. though starving the enemy of supplies is not the best tactic. Since they need to fire that ammo at someone, and that someone is you.
3)if you refer to side mission on the main campaign map like going to chihuahua, then you need to them when they pop up. if you head away you do not get a chance to return and there might be long term consequences.
1. How long is the main campaign? The mission amount.
2. How much time does the campaign take?
3. Are you able to play Legion, or only the resistance?
campaign length depends on if you save scum or get hit with some bad luck when it comes to the rng on shots hitting. could take you 20 hours, could take you 200. im up to 41 hours and im barely past the 5th or 6th mission. i have been save scumming though, but only because ive had some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ lucky shots taken against me and caused me to mission fail, and some checkpoints are too tedious to complete 50 times
so far its only the resistance that ive found in the campaign, no idea if theres a post game unlock like what CnC used to do
1. Depends on the map, that said the "infinite" enemies are just weak infantry and armored vehicles that spawn every slowly and at least a good few maps don't have, they're not a big threat.
2. Based on the Editor for Syrian Warfare for the same engine, enemies (I think Artillery is an exception though) can slowly regenerate ammo, this is very slow though and you generally don't need to worry about it, it's more to make up for the AI's inability to use supply vehicles generally.
3. Game is a linear campaign that actually punishes wasting time since travelling uses supplies that are finite, there are optional side-tasks during missions and a handful of optional missions though.
