but do remember tanks are alot hard to hide, even if your sniper is a building far away from the tank, the tank may still show up because it can't camo it self
The AI has exactly the same capabilities as the player. No cheating.
If the AI shoots at the player from the fog of war, it means there is some kind of enemy unit that sees the player’s units, but itself remains invisible to the player due to camo level.
Occasionally, the problem of a unit being invisible due to the terrain appears. When the landscape hides an enemy unit, but the unit itself sees you and can sometimes shoot. This is a fairly rare problem.
But this is the same for AI and your player units. Only camouflage can give an advantage. For example, Legion drones have the highest level of camouflage in the game and can therefore often remain invisible and highlight the player's units to launch spider attacks. And if at the same time the spider has ATGM launchers, then it can shoot from the fog of war if someone highlights an enemy for him.
Hope this helps.
What you don't want is to scout with your vehicles. You really don't - especially not deeper into the campaign. Those heavy weapon squads hidden in houses / bushes love to take podshots at your engine/driver/vehicle.
Line of sight and camo becomes very important later in the game. You don't want to stay in the open field and wait for tanks to exchange fire. While this is nice to watch and works in the earlier missions, it will cost you a lot later.
