Hotfix and Patch Note v1.01.933
Hi everyone,

Today, we're rolling out the first of several patches to enhance performance in Terminator: Dark Fate - Defiance. This hotfix addresses some localization issues related to ammo and weapons across multiple languages.

Additionally, we're addressing issues with Widescreen Monitors and the Ultrawide Monitor crash reported by many of you. The Ultrawide Monitor crash fix and improvements to the Widescreen Monitor resolutions issues will be available on an Open Beta branch for testing over the weekend and will be officially released early next week.

The team is also working on Full Widescreen Monitor support which will be available within the next couple of weeks.

The incoming patch, available now on Open Beta and released fully next week, resolves the following issues:

  • Fixed a problem that could lead to the "black screen" and crashes when starting the game on wide screens;
  • Fixed a crash problem if for some reason the video or audio adapter was not initialized
  • Fixed UI bug in 4K on the infantry training screen;
  • Fixed several rare random crashes;
  • Fixed disappearance of the squad's healing indicator;
  • Fixed a rare bug where the task "Clear Legion forces out of the area" in Abiquiu was not considered completed due to hidden single Legion units;
  • Additional allied forces have been added at the beginning of the Movement Outpost mission so that the player can fight off Rev-6 even if he came to the mission with a very small army;
  • Integrators on the Santa Fe outskirts mission should no longer immediately become enemies due to the player's unit accidentally passing through their territory;
  • On the Nueva Tortuga mission, a rare bug has been fixed due to which the mission could be considered lost when Luiz, Mason's or Church's squad leaving sector;
  • In multiplayer now only one artillery slot is given per reinforcement phase.

And if you have a Widescreen Monitor with this open beta update:
  • A player with a widescreen monitor, on launching the game, the resolution is set by default - 1920x1080
  • Go to the Settings Screen, on Video, choose 2K resolution (if supported) and Turn Off Full Screen, thus choosing windowed mode.
  • A 2K resolution in windowed mode is much better than FullHd in windowed mode. This should be done for both Widescreen Monitors and UltraWidescreen Monitors

To participate in the Beta program, go through the following steps:

  1. Right click on Terminator: Dark Fate - Defiance in your Steam Library
  2. Click on Properties
  3. Click on Betas
  4. Click on drop-down menu and select "Beta - Open Beta"
  5. Then Steam should automatically update the game and download the Beta.

Need serious optimisation, many hickups, poor performance on both highest and lowest settings stay the same. Also seems to have a memory leak where it keeps eating RAM. RTX2080 here and 4Ghz CPU 16Gb RAM. Zoomed out its like little over 35 fps zoom in few bits and it runs 60 non stop but as soon more units spawn on the map it runs bad. CPU and GPU load never reaches over 50 procent.

are you trying the new open beta branch. If this is still an issue, deleting your gameoptions.xml file in Documents\My Games\Terminator Dark Fate\profiles\<xxx> folder may solve the issue?

Yes i got the beta update and deleted the configdatax.xml. Even in windowed and 2k the screen is cut off. An interessing thing is that the game didnt started with the 1920x1080 resolution.

Just to confirm - this is with an UltraWide Monitor? And using the new Open Beta branch version?

There is a hacky option to alter some resolution data in your settings file. From another player:

C:\Users\YOUR_USERNAME\Documents\My Games\Terminator Dark Fate\profiles\<profilename>\gameoptions.xml

And then in the file:
<render.mode.width>1600</render.mode.width>
<render.mode.height>900</render.mode.height>
<render.mode.windowed>true</render.mode.windowed>

This should set your window so the game is viewable on your monitor.

Please fix the performance of this game , the game is only using one cpu core and therefore is ultra bottlenecked at cpu lvl.

This is unacceptable and should be top priority
