Game too hard and not fun
I might be out of practice for RTS
Too hard on the easiest level
Expectation of of saving and reloading all the time by game design
It just not fun when a game gets like this.
People should be allowed to adjust the difficulty so they can learn and play the game the way they want.

When I read how people go about their missions, I always get the feeling that people don't have the time or inclination to play the game or have skipped the tutorials.
I'm also sick of hearing that there's no line of sight. It's there for all units!

In the past you couldn't even save in games, but this is child's play :-)
Can everyone only play P2W and the simplest smartphone games?
Get a grip, or it's just the wrong genre for you. You can also play a game the way the developers imagined it. You don't always have to build a base, have turn-based strategy, etc., i.e. the same rehash over and over again.
No it seriously is challenging even for an RTS.
Much harder than Homeworld, Men of War, etc.

Then your strategy is probably wrong. The problem often lies in front of the screen and not just in the game.
Learning, getting better or going under is just like in real life.
These are strategy games and that's exactly what I like.
It can't be hard enough.
Otherwise I'd be playing first-person shooters :-)

But you can lower the difficulty even further if you can't cope with it and think you don't have to learn to win.
There's also a pause button and you have all the time in the world, which should prevent you from getting overwhelmed.

What do you do in multiplayer, write that the opponent is too strong :-) As I said, you also have to work on yourself and want to learn in order to improve. Otherwise, what's the attraction?
Ask a mountaineer what sense of achievement he has on the summit. If you fly him up in a helicopter, he certainly won't feel it. Do you understand what I mean?
Man, understand that not everyone has your skills! I am a RTs player since the early 90s (the genre emerged) and yes, it´s indeed very hard. Especially for those players, who are not used to RTS or RTT at all and are just interested in the thematic "Terminator" franchise....
I have played men of war , starcraft , wargame , AoE , CoH or basically any decent RTS out there and i can say this game is on the harder side by default and quite punishing , may be less than wargame due to being smaller scale .

Yeah, I just gave my last attempt with the game. Not sure if its the 2nd or 3rd mission and I'm just done. Spent about 4 hour or so hours and several attempts and its just ridiculous what you are asked to do with a handful of units.

Hold 2 locations, stop convoys from 2 directions, and a few other objectives I never got to. it's at the moment then the machines bring heavy arty to the map and just nuked what ever chance of victory I had is rage inducing.

Ok cool, Ill finish the game with my 3 man tech squads and vans and pick-ups and worthless snipers that survived ,yeah right. OH and bulldozer I have a bulldozer.

U need keep moving ur tanks to dodge the arty while moving to them, also when u fire with the tank on the arty keep moving...got it after second try eeeeaaaasy

Instead of trying to improve, to learn from mistakes, to change their strategy, they complain at the first failure.

With the guns scattered around the map, which you can attach to vehicles, you shoot down every tank with 2 shots. 1 shot disables the weapons, 2 shots blow everything up.
If you place 2 or 3 of these strategically on the map, the enemy hardly stands a chance.
It's easy with the right strategy. Your opponents' tanks don't have this range!
You also have to adapt your strategy and not try the same thing 5 times over and over again.

I love the way people here are arguing against changes to game modes that do no apply to them.
You want hard, you've got it.
It will certainly stay that way. So shut up about the other modes already.
You supersuperior-superhumans(cough, cough). Smoke and mirrors.

What really bothers me most of all is that on easy and medium every second hit(no matter from which source, even stray, non plasma, single shot hits are critical hits to a vehicles structure.
It might be nice to lower that chance value, respectively, at those difficulty levels.

Pathfinding:
We should at least be able to set up waypoint for vehicles that they actually follow WITHOUT small breaks in between for checking emails. The way it is now is simply awful.

Rules of engagement:
that units who are not engaging anyone assist friendlies when they are RIGHT THERE.

Damage dealt:
I expect three to four howitzer shells to flatten a small building. and destroy everything inside.
Sorry, not going to discuss this. If my vehicles are cardboard held together with bubblegum then at least have my weapons do some damage.
And yeah, fix that dam problem with units on higher terrain not being able to engage units below and add some dam bonuses.

Coming from Alien Dark descent, a game with so many units, unit specific abilities and such a high level of action on screen does NOT translate well to this format.
And it is this format. But then it isn't. So what is it?
For me. Way too much role of the dice.
Turn based in the style of JA4 would have been much, much better.

When you leave the 3rd mission you should have with you in your army
An Abrams tank, an M2 Bradley, Kondo, and whatever else you can manage to drag off the map, but these 2 vehicles are essential to keep going.
I love RTS. With Basebuilding or Squad based like this. But i am not really good at them. I often choose the easiest way to win aginst the A.I.

Yes this game is challenging and many missions aren´t possible with first tray without save/reloading. But the game is not hard. When i have to reload, most for the time because i did a dumb mistake choose the worng vehicle or just my units wasn´t in a good position and i got off guard by the A.I.

It´s not a click,click,click brain off game. You have to know your tools and think forward.

Problem is. I see many youtube videos where many people just leave the fourth mission after they meet bolzano with a small army. But when you play this mission correct you will have a tank, a bradly, a stryker and a M113 IFV. And this vehicles make the game much easier.

The game is rather challenging at times, but nothing that can't be dealt with.

Biggest issue is the lack of supplies.
I just lost a fully equipped ranger squad to an atgm team, assaulted them in the building and they were in and they killed my whole squad.

Fix your RNG ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
i assume alot of people dont get the abrams tank and bradley early which can make things difficult early

The original poster is pretty correct, actually. The first mission out of the tutorial has you outmanned and outgunned, fighting endless waves of enemies that can kill you from multiple screens away, with each troop who dies being a permanent loss.

Even on the easiest difficulty, your soldiers are still only slightly tougher than the basic bot, and 'stealth' isn't a great idea because there's no visual indicators of enemy sightlines besides 'they don't see you' and 'you're dead'.

I like the game, it's a cool idea, but if they wanted to go for the XCOM vibe, your soldiers need to be a hell of a lot tankier, and if they wanted to go for the Company of Heroes vibe, your troops and vehicles need to be a whole lot more easily replacable.

I tried a skirmish yesterday where I paused every 3 to 5 seconds. It really chops up the game play and I feel we need a replay option to be able to piece together the fluency later. Having to fly across the map to check on the other units is cumbersome...... every 3 seconds you never know when an enemy armor unit shows up.

But when the helicopters came out from both side the lag monster froze the game and ruined a long game I was winning. So if your winning then the devs through big lag at you. Its all about keeping the players from winning.

Work is stressful for me. I play games to relieve that stress. Now I have to come home to just more stress..... No thank you.
