Crashing On Start-Up

Game is Crashing just after the Slitherine screen

I had the same issue with resolution 5140 x 1440p, well I'm sure you guys will fix it

C:\Users\Username\Documents\My Games\Terminator Dark Fate\profiles\9f28bb56f8edba169d19a5fd4a23d872

Open the folder named
gameoptions

and look for

<render.mode.width>2560</render.mode.width>
<render.mode.height>1440</render.mode.height>

change the numbers accordingly (seems ultrawides are all having issue so stick to standard resolutions, 2560x1440, 1920x1080 etc)

Nice one. I must have deleted that and it generated the file again on start up.

When I click start in the launcher nothing ever happens. The game is not crashing but never starts

yea def an ultrawide issue. Weird because the demo worked well

The problem is getting into the game to be able to change the resolution back.
It won't work even if I try to force it to using the Steam launch options to set the resolution to 1080p.
Is there a config file where we can edit it directly?

No luck here unforunately, even though to start I am getting an instant crash with 1440p. Tried reducing to 1080 with this step and all the common fixes without any results quite yet.

I solved it discovering that Windows Defender were blocking the .exe when it was trying to modify the "documents" folder (I think in order to create a save folder or something similar).

I just allowed it and now it works.

Mostly windows causing such issues lately and not all of the problems are game related.

Yea, whenever I push the resolution to over 2560 width I lose the upper and lower part of the screen no matter the height setting. At 2560x1440 it works fine for me, but that's not why I have an ultrawide monitor for.

I guess my point is that there is definitely something going on with ultrawide setups.

Hi I just brought the game today, and when I get to the second load up page, i.e the red bar, which takes ages to do, it says his any key and nothing happens but crashes from a windows message saying file not working. I am not an IT person and have major learning difficulties, can anyone help please thanks

Try going to your Steam Library, right click the game, click properties, then click local files. There there should he a button that says verify integrity of game files. It will verify if any of your files are corrupt. This is my usual go-to first

Same here, with little to no help from the support team. This happened with Stargate for me as well, they gave me a fix then after an update it went right back to it, and the fix no longer worked. I am pretty disappointed. But as someone who was in the PC Gaming industry my self this is probably not on the top, or even the middle of the list to fix. I was told to try SkipLauncher, still does not work causes a loop crash. Open, close, open,. close. And I have tried everything from firewall setting to uninstall and reinstall.

Hi Kurja - let me check with support to see what else they can do. This isn’t an issue we usually find so I’m amazed they’ve not been able to get this fixed for you.
