Does unit veterancy affect accuracy?
I've been having issues with my Abrams missing quite a few shots, despite having an insanely high crew skill.. (mother has 4/5 upgrades available). What does unit veterancy do for vehicles? if anything. Cause I havent noticed any

Unfortunately it does not, only rate of fire for 500 Goodwill.

Veterancy improves health, accuracy and fire rate. I definitely notice the higher accuracy on more experienced squads.

IK how smoke works, I dont expect my units to hit shots on enemies behind smoke... but like, my abrams missing 4 shots in a row on a spider is just..... yea

Accuracy is also affected if the abrams is moving while firing

Also something i am aware of... this was an abrams, with its standard 120mm gun, sitting still at an intersection

From my experience, shooting at extreme range can miss a lot.

Diggin in the game files, yes, it absolutely does, as Sardonac says, and darth is right that accuracy is also a function of range. 20mm's with elite crew will still be scattering shots everywhere at max range, and will absolutely dumpster anything damagable by it at half range.

Yes, veterancy has a impact on accuracy, and at vet 4 and 5 its actually quiet massive to the point were the abrams will be consistently hitting targets even on the move.

Is the Syrian warfare zeroing in mechanic also in play? In Syrian warfare, there is a zero in mechanic, where cannons will start missing, then slowly get more accurate till it hits. If any of the units move, then the zeroing restarts (hence pop in, shoot, pop out). This is why most units will lose to an atgm armed bmp, since the ATGM will hit, while the cannon armed tank will be zeroing.

The net effect is what people have joked as "Arab shooting" where everyone missed wildly, which I guess has a grain of truth.

One unintended side effect is that the zeroing is per shot, so rapid firing auto cannons (20mm, 25mm, 30 mm) will zero in a lot quicker and start landing shots that cause crits, so a lot of people prefer the autocannons to cannons, especially when dealing with Shaheed Mobiles/ VBIED/ Car Bombs.
