they got a nasty laser sniper so i dont think it would be possible unless you're extremely lucky
Duels are worth the trouble IMHO - as they result in weapon unlocks. If anything those are very valuable to sell for good will points after the mission. (that TOW missile launcher nets 800, just sayin...)
So, I always do fight with both squads and pay the prision to replenish both.
Depending on the path you're taking, the only thing you really need Pesos for is the 5k for the Integrator Tank if you're buying it. They don't do anything for you after the mission, so may as well spend them.
It's actually much better to just hack the spider and lose the pesos since the tank can be stolen as the cartel wipes out the integrators. You don't have to worry about angering the integrators and the cartel is badly injured in the fight.
